Stud starting LB left team for private school football. I thought it was the other way around for MC recruiting talent away from private schools? A stud RB also left for private school last month. Also, some parents scratching heads about money spent on stadium upgrades to include a jumbo tron for a team that can't seem win outside their district.

Anyone else hearing parents questioning the wisdom of the footbawl coach?

I dont' think he has but I don't follow as closely as I used to. He basically has lost USP and OB once in the playoffs. I remember them being more talented.

Its pretty clear you would like to see Hall gone. He is dominating everyone but USP and OB in a school district that has been raided TWICE in the last 10 years.

Hall took MC from being a Brandon/Clinton to being an upper echelon 6A team. They were the definition of mediocre before he got there.

Just curious why all the hate. Some unrealistic expectations.

Actually, I'm a fan of the coach and have not once advocated him leaving. I also invest financially in the the program.I'm just posting some comments heard in backchannels among boosters and parents, many of whom will not speak openly or directly with the coach for fear of impacting their child's opportunities, not by Coach, but by some of his staff.

I think Coach is not limited by talent, there is tons of it at MC, especially in the incoming Jr class. I don't think it was Coach who caused the stud LB to leave, it was from staff. Coach is limited on what he can do with staff because it's the HS system and they are also teachers. Last season he had a very talented DC who had the full support of the players on D. But hard to hold onto the good ones as they move upward. The not so good ones tend to not move up and you have to work with what you've got.

As for the expectations, not unrealistic. With the talent pool and financial resources pumped into the MC,not hard to do as well as has been done since his arrival.

The parents I've overheard are lookingfor player development in character and skill for opportunities at the next level.A new stadium entrance and jumbo tron won't make a kid run a more crisp route, a QB thread a needle with a pass, or a RB run behind his pads. It will make them feel better about where they play.

I don't have a player on the teamyet. Not for another2 years, so this is not from a disgruntled parent. Just hearing comments from parents and supporters who were here through Justiceto present.

Really interested in others' thoughts.

Has NOT left the team for MRA. Not yet at least. Your source is not totally correct.

I just heard starting LB, didn't know any names. Like I said, don't have any kids on the team yet so don't really know all the players names.

And I don't have a "source", was justtelling you what Ioverheard from some parents. Parents referred to him as the kid that put a lick on the Clinton RB last season and referred to him asa stud LB.

What is your purpose/goal of starting these threads? This is a MSU board and we discuss other sports topics as well. I really cant think of any posters whose only thing is to start threads about a specific HS team. It seems you are the Coach34 of MC football. There has to be somewhere for you to vent your frustrations. I played at MC and could really care less about anything you're posting, so I could only imagine the general consensus of the rest of the board. Is Bawby Hall a douche. Absolutely. But is it a huge deal? Not really. You act like MC booster club meeting are like the xena reb/neal mccready secret society crap. What is your main objective and what do you want to accomplish?

They lost to South Panola on the road. And yes, the absolutely lost to a good team on the road- but what pissed me off was how they lost. Hall lost control of the team during the second quarter. Tons of personal fouls, players throwing helmets down the sideline- stuff like that. And he just stood there. Never called a timeout. Nothing.

And MC lost by two TD's- most of South Panola's TD's were scored in that disastrous second quarter.

And then to top it off- he blames the loss on the defense despite the fact that HIS offense threw 2-3 INT's.

If I were the principal of MC- I would have fired him after that. Not for the loss- but the lack of control of the players.

Fortunately for Hall, MC had a woman as a principal and she was OK with whatever as long as MC won most of the time and beat Clinton and Northwest Rankin.

MCHS has a new principal. His name is Austin Browne? MC has also budgeted a new jumbotron awaiting approval from the school board as well as a iPhone app.

I'm not going to debate the behavior of the players, but that was the absolute worst officiated game I have ever seen. The refs were calling personal fouls for nothing on MC. After the first touchdown, Will Bryan high-fived another player and got a personal foul for excessive celebration. The refs weren't going to let MC win that one.

but was at the regular season L NW Rankin loss in '10 and saw behavior I had never seen. Tobias didnt shake hands at the end, he threw his helmet and went and sat in the corner of the endzone pouting. The principle Edith Mitchell went over and picked his *** up and made him get his helmet and then shake hands. Under previous coaches that would have never happened period

but I do know about a program being raided. Due to redistricting, OB lost families that had grandfather's, father's, perhaps even great grandfathers play at OB. Losing some of that tradition and talent hurt the program for a few years. Kids that would have played for OB 10 years ago are now at Desoto Central, Center Hill, and Lewisburg.

And I do agree with you 100% that the officiating was atrocious.

But at the same time, you've got to get control of your team. Call a time out and tell your team to not do anything whatsoever to make them throw a flag. Explain to them in no uncertain terms that saying a word is costing you and your teammates a state championship. But don't just stand there like a dumbass.

And even more ridiculous was that the officials allowed South Panola to celebrate, taunt, whatever. Which I actually don't mind- except if you are going to call it tight on one team, call it tight on the other.

but I would like to see what someone like Anthony Hart, Nevil Barr, or Forest Williams could do at MC.

Same as the Ron Polk theory.

Its discussion ofMississippihigh school football and this topic happens to be about MC. And by the repsonses of a number of others in this thread, it's a topic they want to discuss. And although you won't admit it,it is of interest to you as you are here right along with the others posting. Threads are like restaurants, if you don't visit them, they will cease, but this one and others like it seem to have visitors. Rather than you dictating, how about contribute to the discussion (even if you disagree), or don't post in this thread or others like it.

Last I checked, thisforum is about sports although it is heavy on MSU.I played forCoach Sherrill and love MSU, but I also have kids who may or may not play ball in Madison when they are old enough.

The objective here is nothing more than to hear the thoughts and ideas of others. Also not elevating the booster club, just commenting on what I've overheard from those who contribute as well asothers.

And for the record, I've not called Coach a"douche" or any other name. Just keeping the dicussion, at least on my part, to substance.

Very few replies have been on the original topic. It's side discussions by people interested in MC football. If its about your kids playing there, it's a very good school and football program. Rest easy in that. You just make it seem black helicopterish. I don't mind discussing this at lenghth, I'll just spare the board. PM me for any detailed questions
