Congrats to Mainland. That wasn't a great Ramapo team but was a huge eye opener for North Jersey fans like me.
Weren’t they split like 500 last year in the finals? Think it’s a bit much to say south jersey is much better. Maybe this year…
Although not a vintage Ramap team Mainland proved they are the best public school in the State and maybe the second best team after BC.
You don’t watch much parochial football I guess. Mainland beat Hammonton 14-7
They aren’t beating any north jersey Catholics.

Would be a lot closer than what most here would think.
Would’ve love to see Mainland vs Passaic Tech’s Defense or go toe to toe with Toms River North.
Amazing how many people who complain about parochials don’t really know the story of how we got to this point.
I sorta agree, but I've been into NJ high school football for like 60 years. It's too late to stop now.
And those North Jersey parochials are pretty good.
Now that the publics play to a single State champion in each group, and polls like the Bergen Record run separate State polls for the publics and the privates, I think there are still plenty of reasons to follow public high school football. Personally, I don't pay too much attention to what the parochials are doing, but that's just me.
