from his Wednesday update, on concessions and other stadium improvements pre-season:
"You may know that the university has a new stadium concessionaire. Aramark, which has operated the university’s full-service dining hall meal plan for the past two years, has invested significant dollars into upgrading our current concession stands and added a significant number of portable and mobile kiosks. These auxiliary areas add 'points of sale' locations and streamlined 'behind-the-counter' operations in an effort to shorten wait times for customers. Additionally, the number of in-stadium 'hawkers' will double this year.
As we continue to grow our support and the number of fans coming to Davis Wade Stadium increases, we'll look for more ways to improve the MSU football experience.
The stadium has undergone some customary off-season cleaning and painting, but you will notice that some other areas that have traditionally not been painted have been dressed up. Upper deck portals on the east side, some ramp areas, and inside the stadium itself have all received a new coat of paint.
Stadium banners that were removed for painting – as well as some new exterior banners – are scheduled for installation next week. Wall banner applications have also been added to the recruiting lounge, the club level and some ramp areas, as well as the press box. New flat screen monitors have been added to east side elevator lobbies and televisions grace some concession areas, as well. We have also added speakers in the restrooms and concourse areas to provide radio play-by-play for fans as they move about the stadium or in some way cannot see the game action.
Faux wrought iron fencing has been added around the M-Club building at the south end of the stadium. Cellular South and AT&T are planning to beef up their cellular service in and around the stadium in an effort to improve connectivity for their respective users.
Hand rails on the lower east and west side main grandstands have been added to each section to improve customer care and comfort. Additionally, an in-stadium text messaging system has been added this season. Game personnel will be able to communicate information to customers even before they reach Davis Wade Stadium and fans may provide information to game operations personnel through this system, as well. More information will come."
