Have to disagree with you. At least partially. His game is what it is. Cal and the coaches need to work with him on that. That shouldn't get him benched but I don't go along with you on the laughing on the bench and blowing off the handshake line. Like I said, maybe that's okay today but there was a time that would have been frowned upon big time. I have to side with that not being acceptable. Peace.

Handshake line thing is totally unacceptable. Bench him for that any day, along with our "leader" Briscoe.

If it wasn't for Fox you mean. Monk gives us nothing if he's not making jumpers.

OP your silly

Watch about a minute before he's laughing sounds like the student section is directing a chant at Monk. Maybe a Birthday mock chant or something but maybe that's why he is laughing. He's 19 chill out and enjoy the ride. Can't win them all. Think back to 08-09... it could be a lot worse... enjoy these years of Kentucky basketball

Caption, "oh man, they're singing happy birthday"

Or "man, I can't wait to watch Raftards melt into a puddle."

Probably true. But I don't think anyone really knows why he was laughing. Excuses will start pouring out for it. What I do know, is he's laughing, down 20, after the team is imploding. No one is going to care why, and they're bringing that on themselves.

Crying and being mad wont help either. It's basketball. Play the next game.

This team has too many issues to overcome to be able to make a FF IMO.

What these guys need to understand is..When the team loses you look bad..the better your team does especially in March the better you stock is.

The funny thing is I'm not even a little emotional about this. I've experienced first hand how great it can be for a team to rid itself of a cancer, even if he's the most talented player. I've had a bad feeling about monk for a while. Ultra talented, but something was off with his demeanor. I'll bet a good amount most of his teammates don't like him behind closed doors.
Do you even know what he is like behind closed doors? Saying his teammates hate him behind closed doors because of how he plays on the court is an asinine statement

May seem extreme, but he clearly does not care one bit about playing for the team. He just wants to make it to draft day and move on. Fine, but let's move on now and put someone in who actually gives a damn. This team is finished either way. I'd rather watch someone who gives everything...

I bet a lot of other teams think that's a great idea.

Of, I've always been curious. What exactly do trolls eat?

What's fox give us when he's not able to get to the rim??? This team goes as far as Monk takes us!!! Plain and simple!!!

Rebounds way better and leds Monk into a lot of his shots. He is by far the MVP of this team. Cal had Fox check in 2 mins after not starting him, or we would have lost by 35.

If Monk isn't scoring he's nothing, he has to put up 25 just to have a good game.

I have to admit, from angle, without Monk this team would be bubble right now more than likely. If not, we would be thinking about it as a possibility.

That's pathetic.

He's a good kid.

But, he needs to tighten up on the floor. He takes a lot of bad shots.
He doesn't do anything other than score right now.

I agree we need Monk but his attitude sucks, seems he doesn't care, shouldn't be laughing and the bench no matter what.

He's capable of awesome levels of play, and has saved us in a couple games. UNC and Georgia being the most prominent examples. No one in their right mind could deny his value when he's on.

But he is a defensive liability, plays selfishly (lack of effort, silly off-balance shots) at times - especially when he isn't clicking offensively, and doesn't appear to live and die with UK wins/losses the way we die-hard fans expect of our team.

Some might argue this is Cal's fault, some might say it's all on Malik.

Some of both, I'd say. But perhaps more on Cal. Don't you think we're probably a little lucky that so many of the one-and-dones actually DID give two s**** about UK? None of them really HAD to. It's sad but also not really surprising when some of them, including Malik, don't.

Bam said to him, "Damn Monk. And I thought we stunk tonight. Was your birthday cake made out of pinto beans?"
