Mallard Creek came from behind with a good win over PAC 31-21. Cardinal Gibbons with a good win over Jordan 43-24. Any thoughts with this game.

Two more teams (along with Grimsley and WF Rolesville) vying for the 2024Big Cajones Scheduling Award. Not shying away from stiff competition early in the season. Total respect for teams and coaches willing to take a potential L early in the season to find out their team's true strengths and weaknesses. Fun for the fans and will pay off in the post season.

Would have been a great game, but if there's more security here than at an airport TSA, then do anyone really need to be at this game? Like you and I discussed, there's already enough safety concerns statewide with guns. It's a sad reality when we have to sacrifice freedom and comfort for the sake of safety.

Game cancelled! Creek had everything lined up for tomorrow, refs and security available for a game at 1:00pm tomorrow.
Cardinal Gibbons declined. Creek offered to travel to Raleigh tomorrow. No response!
If all that is true, why wasn’t CG given the forfeit? Both teams have removed the game from their schedules in MaxPreps rather than showing CG with a forfeit. Not saying you’re wrong, just asking.

They advised they couldn't return because they wouldn't have access to Charter buses the next day. That's when coach suggested we would travel to them the next day. Hell, we traveled 2 1/2 hours to Anderson SC in school buses the previous weekend. Definitely should have been a forfeit, as the Creek did everything, to make the game happen.

CG shouldn’t be allowed to play in the NCHSAA. This is a perfect example of why they shouldn’t.

nepsy, my nephew coaches over at S. Rowan. Their “opponent” backed out on them too, lost out on a home gate, concession’s, everything. This is setting a bad precedent.

South Rowan opponent is South Stanly, a small 1A school. They wanted to return to play at South Rowan today and were open to a start as early as 10am. South Rowan, the host school, would not play until Monday.

South Stanly coach, Terry Shankle (former UNC player in his second year), was ok with Monday. Their AD said he would not do Monday due to having a thirty (healthy) man roster, including eight quarter players, with JV and varsity games coming up Thursday and Friday.

I lean in favor of South Stanly in this one.

Think CG has turf. If so, they should have accepted the MC travel offer. If they have grass it would have been dependent on the condition of the field.
