Was Willard perfect? No, but from an on-court perspective the criticism of him by some fans is so unbelievably tone deaf. It's astonishing.
So true about Willard but I remember having to defend Mamu as a fan in the arena. Fans and folks on this site saying he was not a Big East player. He took awhile to developed but the skills were always there. I remember watching him get a rebound and dribble the length of the court and score as a freshman. Now I see Hines as a Freshman and think he’s the best big man I ever saw at this early stage of development. He has the potential to be our best NBA player ever, long way to go but kid is loaded with talent. Biggest questions are can we keep him here, can he develop an outside shot.

Know a couple of Villanova guys, one of which is on their BOR. they always loved Mamu’s game and wished he was on their roster.

Sandro with key inbound pass to Immanuel Quickley for game winning three as time expires at Charlotte (97-96 Final.) He played significant minutes in the 4th quarter which is good to see. Raptors were down 10 in the 4th. He played 25 minutes with 10 points (4-8), (2-4 from three). Finished with a (+10) for game. Raptors now have a 23-15 record for the season.

Some Good News Here: Sandro had a Great 5 game West Coast Road Trip. Raptors won the last 3 games. He scored 13, 20, 14 and 22 in each of the last two wins. He also was in starting lineup for couple. He had a +15 against Sacramento and a +25 against Portland. Terrific news for the former Pirate. He's headed for at least 6 or 7 million. if not way more than that

Sandro is Swiss army knife but not sure he can ever be an isolated defender in a spot in a game. I feel toronto will have a great postseason. Good culture there. He has a player option. Feel he and his agent want to get the 3 to 4 year guarantee money stage. Toronto may be that spot or elsewhere.

Talk about a high IQ player, he is an excellent passer, makes good offensive reads and is unselfish. Greatly improved his 3-point shot and overall game from college. Has always been an average defensive player at best, but he is in a great system with Toronto.

As a young player, he learned the game as a point guard and had a big growth spurt. Has the offensive mindset of a PG. Willard was smart to play him as a point forward his last year, and really featured him, which helped him land in the NBA.

And 1 school all 4 years.
When are these kids going to learn stay in one program . Develop
All depends on where he went if he left Hall. It isn’t like he was playing for a guy with an extensive track record of developing NBA players.

Mamu going to end up the greatest NBA player Seton Hall has produced?

God so many debates on this board about him when we needed him to step up after the Delgado/Carrington/Rodriguez departures. I think we got our answer, LOL.

Mamu now leads the raptors who are ahead of the Knicks , at 3% at37.5.
His line right now is 11.1 ppg, 5.1 reb, 2.0 ast, 52.7 fgp and as mentioned above 37.5% from 3.

He started the last 3 games. In his last 5 games, he scored 10, 22, 22, 14 and 20. With Jacob Poeltl Out with back problems and Colin Murray-Boyles out with ankle injury. Mamu has been picking up the slack. Murray-Boyles when healthy had been getting most of Poltl's starting nods. It will be interesting to see if Mamu continues to start in Poeltl's place when Murray-Boyles returns. I think he's scheduled to be back for the Knicks game Wednesday... which is a big one. I think that Mamu has earned the start. Raptors 1/2 game ahead of knicks and 1/2 game behind Celtics.

Edited to correct day of Knicks game to Wednesday.
