Well, since he is gone: I hated his reads. His profile picture reminds me of the Rick Rowdys chant leader '03-'04. He is portrayed in my brain as the son of the marshmellow man. Sports writing and sports playing should go hand in hand. No way he ever tossed a ball, other than that of the meat variety. His humor was weak and he hated MSU cheese. I had to read his stuff in braille for any kind of sensation. Enjoy chasing the police sirens.
My main issue was all of the typos he routinely put into his stories

I really wish that they would go outside our border states and hire a journalist unfamiliar with Mississippi football in general. He can learn the necessities on the trail. I would like to read someone who can be critical (+/-), perceptive (football IQ), and ahead of the curve. These TSUN alums are just collecting a paycheck.

Then we get stuck with a Robert Falkoff, who was always complaining about "all Mississippi readers wanted to hear about was about Mississippi Sports", or Doug Colson who's always going on about the Seattle Seahawks and the NFL draft.
We need a Mississippi State guy who isn't afraid to be a homer the same way Ole Miss writers and broadcasters do. Bo Bounds and Matt Wyatt go overboard with their "evenhandedness and fair reporting". Sports is ENTERTAINMENT. You do NOT "entertain" by digging up dirt on the MSU program.

That would be because Rusty will reach into his bottom drawer and dust off the ole cookie cutter and punch out another clone. Most likely a Gannett scrub from some small town paper who is about to get the ax, thus saving the mother ship some unemployment who will stay just long enough to learn some faces and when his Starkville apartment lease runs out he will move on. Then Rusty will do it again.......
