I’m home from school work and watching Mississippi State play like crap in the NCAA tournament against a team from Michigan on CBS. The year is 1991 2024.
Mich State is trying to throw an oopp behind our double team. They missed both, but they were there.
The last time we won a tournament game was 2008 first round win over Oregon as an 8 seed. We then took 1 seed Memphis to the wire in the second round but lost by 3. Since then we are 0-3 in tournament games. Blown out first round 2009 by Washington, beat by Liberty in 2019 first round and lost to Pitt last year in the First Four.
Really a ****** draw as far as timeslot. I could justify kicking off late afternoon Thursday or noon on friday to drink the frustration away. Hard to do that Thursday at lunch.

We need to get DJ that ball in the corner over and over. MichSt is not allowing Hub or Tuli anything. Hub forcing shots is not the path to a win. Get DJ those corner shots. Loosen up their Defense then maybe that frees up Hub or Tolu offensively.
That's right. I think memphis was the year after Duke. Think we had two back to back seasons where we underachieved in the regular season and ended up in that 8-9 slot. Stans wasn't nearly as bad in the tournament as people remember. He had some legitimate bad luck (having to essentially play an away game against Texas as a 3 seed, catching hot Xavier and Butler teams that advanced again after beating us), but the teams played well against Memphis and Duke, but neither team should have been in the position of playing a 1 seed in the second round. Both of those teams should have been 6 seeds at worst based on talent.
If they continue to shoot three three-pointers like this, we will lose. We absolutely are not playing defense like we did this past weekend. When they put Matthews on the bench it totally disrupted the flow of our offense.
When we beat TN last week I remember I was sweeping and mopping my kitchen and just keeping up with the game in the background. I’m about to go grab a broom.

Hubbard was fouled on that 3. It may not have been obvious, but he doesn't brick open 3's.

When we get the scared Tolu version of Tolu that we’re getting today, we really just don’t have anything of offense aside from Hubbard forcing shots. It’s wild to have 13 P5 scholarship players yet just one that can actually shoot a basketball
Hubbard! I think we were trying to go 2-1 there at the end of the half and got a little too deep in the clock.

Totally agree. If not for Hubbard, we would be getting boat raced.
Of course Michigan State hits a shot at the buzzer. But remember, we trailed LSU by seven at halftime in the SEC Tournament and blew them out in the second half. Hopefully this is a replay of that.
