It would be a huge pick up for Coach Lebb to get Mario Nash Jr from Florida State.

We need both. We did not have a good HS OL class this year. We need immediate impact guys and we need upside young guys. Improve talent where you can and cut whoever they are better than.Naw, we need starters not projects
I think this is something that’s over looked in the portal. Not only do you need guys to start immediately. You need 2-3 year guys that can develop and add depth and become starters. We need both. But do those guys stay and develop? That's the issue. If they don't play - which they all want to - they leave and go somewhere else.I think this is something that’s over looked in the portal. Agreed. Everything is so short sited. But do those guys stay and develop? That's the issue. If they don't play - which they all want to - they leave and go somewhere else.
I wouldn't break the bank for anyone that is a portal developmental guy, but I think a home town guy like this may be worth it because they are more likely in general to stay at least 1 extra year IMO.But do those guys stay and develop? Maybe. If he's cheap and understands he won't play much year 1 but is projected to start in year 2. But portal is usually a 1-year deal. And if you don't legitimately expect him to start in year 2, don't even waste your time.I wouldn't break the bank for anyone that is a portal developmental guy, but I think a home town guy like this may be worth it because they are more likely in general to stay at least 1 extra year IMO.
I don't imagine we'll see many "good" OL classes coming out of high school much anymore. As discussed, we'll probably focus more on skill players - because you can come in and get some PT with speed as a freshman. But there are almost zero OL that can come in and give you anything as a freshman, because of the physical demands and the experience you need up front. So unless it's a special case (Charles Cross was probably the last one) you aren't going to waste too many spots there. We need both. We did not have a good HS OL class this year.
