He was already committed to Arkansas. Long shot from the beginning. We do need another DB, but signing Ramsey or Alexander would be bigger than getting Washington.

The last I saw on Willis was that we were the ones who had stopped talking to him. We told Jones not to take his visit last weekend, so while our familiar JuCo CB recruits may indeed be off the table, it wasn't as if all 3 shut us down.

Telling a recruit not to take visits seems to backfire more often than it works, if that's in fact what happened. I know Ole Miss led after the Egg Bowl for Jones.

The version I heard was that he chose not to visit us that weekend because it was "too crowded"...and that he would still try to visit later. We did have 5 or so other recruits on campus that weekend, and he would have been at least the 3rd JUCO DB...

I guess that makes sense. Freeze takes the Orgeron approach of getting them all on campus at once. I think we have 22 recruits scheduled for late January.
