Interesting...

Per Stricklin's twitter:
"Stopped by basketball practice. Guys were giving great effort. Former Alabama coach Mark Gottfried was also watching."

I guess since he doesn't have a job anymore, he's made up with Stans. I always thought these guys hated each other.

like Mullen and Meyer don't get along...all QB's that Mullen ever coarched hate him...Mullen and Newton hate each other....this is all ridiculous BS..including the alleged hatred between Stans and Gottfried. Stans may end up hiring Mark as an assistant.

We have seen instances where Gottfried was visibly upset with Stans and vice-versa. Also, Gottfried has made some rather harsh statements about Stans over the years.

My point is simple. The "hatred" or dislike between the two coaches was more than "alleged". It was real. The fact that Gottfried is no longer a coach doesn't change the history between them. Professionalism allowed them to work together tonight, but that is not evidence that there was no real tension between the two.

You know Gottfried turned Stans in to the NCAA over Mario Austin, right? He also basically called Stans a cheater in the press. Thankfully, Stans took the high road and just let his team do the talking.

There is no love lost between the two. Gottfried is working for the SEC Network this season as an analyst, and I imagine that's why he was at practice. The two are not suddenly buds.

Ever since they handily whipped us 98-48 (or something like that) and he had the starters on the floor until about one minute remaining

Firsthand knowledge: Stans hates Marky Mark, and the feeling is mutual. Contentment and toleration are two completely different temperaments. Just sayin'.

Espn can come anytime they want I'm pretty sure.

Captain..sorry man.. nope, stans makes the football team look loose lipped. Everythings being kept really quiet.
We will see all we need to know on the 31st against a very good exhibition game.

My family and I will be there for the October 31 game. I wonder if he will play Sidney and Riek just to get them some game experience? The only thing I have heard on practice is there has been some hard licks among the players. Its good to see that this team is evidently going to have a bloodthirsty attitude.
