That was quick!! Acc will be much easier to get to the playoffs.... His offense will do good in the acc and he has good recruiting grounds to work with...

Nothing official yet. Right and Temple coach are the two they are looking at. If they go cheap they wait for Rhule, and most think it will be Richt who is an alum. Georgia recruiting ties with South Fla talent will make a heck of a team there.

No way they are hiring the Temple coach. That is where Al Golden came from. The big time ex Canes won't stand for that!!!
Richt will do well there

If this turns out to happen I am happy for Mark Richt and his family, sucks for us about the qb though. But Bobo is who he really liked, if Bobo gets the Missouri job watch out for them too. Was hoping we could hang on to Pruitt. Only staff member we are going to keep, according to AJC is Rocker, if the rest of the staff follows to Miami they will be pretty tough to deal with in that division in a couple of years. The only snag I see in this is Richt's wife said she wished he would take a year off. In the press conference he looked the best/healthiest he has looked in 3 years. Either way, hope it works out for him like he wants.

Grumpy, u seem to b a very reasonable " foreign" poster. Always appreciate your insight. In your opinion, what does UK need to do to become competitive in football? Do u know if Kirby is taking our Ansley? Thanks

If this is true, then good for Richt and Miami. I think their fans would appreciate him far more than the UGa fans did.

Where do y'all get your information?

OP is wrong about Richt accepting the job.

And they have not been looking at the Temple coach AT ALL.

There are 4 guys they're after.

Butch Davis
Mark Richt
Dan Mullen
Greg Schiano

And there are some unsubstantiated hints about Mike Gundy from Okie St, but it's just rumor.

Not official yet but according to the AJC he is their #1 choice...he would be going home since he played for The U backing up Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly

I get my info from the guy who used to be the recruiting coordinator at Miami, and I used to have ties to the program back in the days when they rolled college football. Richt, Mullen, Schiano, and Butch are all the 4 names being thrown about. Richt is #1 with Mullen #2. Butch is liked by many but the baggage sand UNC issues are not helping. Schiano is the fall back option. Temple coach is being considered and way down the list of all fails and they go cheap. Whoever gets the job has a chance to do very well there providing they can tap into the HS programs in Dade, Broward Palm Beach counties along with Belle Glade, Pahokee... Richt would be able to get those along with north Florida and Georgia with his former connections. Stadium stinks along with fan support even during the glory days, but the talent down in South Florida is better than anywhere in the country by far in such a small area.

I don't pretend to have all the answers but some things are pretty obvious, improve OL play would have to be at the top of the list. Its not so much techique as it is athletism, UKs OL just don't have the athleticism to handle SEC DL and it has shown up week after week. They need to be more consistent, and to decide what their offensive identy is, Stools needs to be in on gameplanning, but and stop looking over the I'd shoulder all game, he hired him he has to trust him too.

DL needs upgraded, Johnson was very good, but the others are very slow, LB and DB play wasn't bad and are young for the most part, very athletic.

So I thing 3 things are big, get better in both lines, decide what you want to do offesnsively and once the offensive game plan is decided Stools needs to let the OC run it without looking over his shoulder.

Looks like it just happened according to my Miami sources - Richt to be officially announced at the U. Also, Golden looks to be going to Rutgers.

What makes you think the ACC presents an easier path for Richt. The SECE has been cupcake city for the last three years and he couldn't take advantage of it. Which is why he's looking for a job.

Well, he's been a head coach for 15 years in the most difficult league - by far - in the country and has the 5th highest winning percentage of all college coaches. So there's that.....

Cool. You ever heard of the West End Zone message board? You should come over there. I was raised a KY fan and been one all my life, but I was a child when the U started making their run and have been a Miami fan for over 3 decades now. Those boys on that board were the ones responsible for the banners.

I never heard anything about Temple's coach, and I just don't buy it. I don't think there was any way that Frenk, and the main boosters would have ever allowed them to go for another Temple coach. Did you see Seantrel Henderson's tweets? Said when they were told about Golden they had to google it to see who it was. Lol.

It's official now, but when OP posted it was, it wasn't official at that time. Richt appeared to be their #1 and they got their guy. I'm good with it.

I personally wanted Butch back. Best talent evaluator and developer I've seen and built the most dominant cfb team I've seen. But I think Richt will do extremely well there. And it's damn sure a HUGE upgrade over anything we've had since Butch.

Like you said the talent level in the area is better than anywhere else imo too. It's why these people acting like it's not an elite job are off base. A good coach can win a title there. They just haven't had even a decent coach in 15 years.

Good move for all parties, IMO. While he is a very good coach, I don't believe we would have won a championship with him. He needed new scenery and we needed new blood.

Richt played at Miami. I doubt the people in Miami will want him fired quick like that one clueless poster said.

And you aren't gonna win a championship without him either UGA fan.
