Masks at Commonwealth?

Certainly, but even you might admit that, since masks inhibit droplets, and since there are viral particles in droplets, there is a decrease in viral dissemination with masks.

Not a significant decrease if people are in the same area for more than a minute, if they don't have a fitted N95 mask without a vent hole, and not if they don't change out their mask with a new one fairly frequently.

It's a security blanket at worst. At best it might help a little. Whatever floats yer boat, though. If anyone wants to go, they'll probably have to wear one.

keep allowing personal freedom to erode, and see how much life you have to enjoy.
this is not about a "little shot". it's about Freedom.
Big difference between freedom and free-dumb.
Over 90 percent of those in the hospital right now with Covid are unvaccinated.
Not sure how freedom correlates with being in a hospital on a ventilator.
Reminds me of a toddler kicking and screaming for the freedom to touch a burning hot stove.

You don't?? Wow. Simpleton much? If the people on the hospital are unvaccinated, they CHOSE not to be. It isn't like they didn't have a place to get it. So if you are vaccinated, you should be good and shouldn't care if someone else has been or not.

“Not even up for a debate”

sCiEnCe iS sEtTlEd

You simply parrot what bureaucrats and Big Pharma-sponsored corporate media say. Doesn’t matter how many times the elite get exposed not adhering to the BS they want to impose on others, people such as yourself are there to be sheep for the appeasement of a group who doesn’t care one iota about you.
The earth is flat. The moon landing was faked. 911 was a government conspiracy. Oh yea…. The election is going to be overturned. The My Pillow guy says so.

The "Free-dumb" comes into play when all of the ICU beds are full from their stupidity and there is a car crash or stroke victim not getting the care they need because of your freedumb.
Your rights end where mine begin.

And your rights end where mine begin. We both have rights, yours is not superior to anyone else's.

If you're afraid of germs, don't go to football games with 70,000 others. It's really that simple. I am fine with any concerned person staying home BUT it's absolutely pathetic watching a very vocal and active minority revel in trying to make others stay home too.

I have been enjoying life since it started. Never stopped living because the ones afraid to live tried to force me to stop. The irony in you response is hilarious. Well done sir.
And your inability to see the consequences of your egocentric world view is exactly why we are all still wearing masks, clogging up ICUs and dealing with this BS.

My two cents, not even worth that much.I had Covid, my doctor of 27 years advised me not to get the shot.Dont need it.My daughter in law IS vaxed, she still got Covid two weeks ago. She's fine now.My wife has not had Covid and shes not vaxed and she's fine.My work, [ in South Carolina] got hit by Covid last week.Took out half our warehouse. This is a HUGE problem.Nobody has died but its a huge problem if you want to make a living.EVERYBODY in that warehouse was wearing a mask and most were vaxxed.IMO I dont trust very much that the government is telling us.Talk to your doctor, this is still a free country for the moment, take some responsibility and make up your own mind.

Here's the difference. My mask and vaccination improves the odds of not killing someone or making them sick.
Your position increases the odds of killing someone or making them sick.
But logic never seems to register with most Spread-necks unfortunately.

Better get updated talking points. Vaccinated people can absolutely transmit the virus.

Stay home if you want but stop trying to make others

If you don't get that vaccination, masks and social distancing are the ways that we're going to control this virus then you're willfully ignorant.

Unless you are staying at home at all times and having all of your essentials delivered to you or going out and wearing an N95 the whole time, you are still at risk. It is going to come down to you are either going to get vaccinated or contract the virus.

Because it's all worked so well! Right now Hawaii is probably the most severely impacted. They're an island and have the most restrictive covid policies in the nation.

Nothing works. There is no zero covid. There is no zero risk scenario. Be cautious, be healthy, and live your life. If that means staying home because you're afraid, do it. If that means getting vaccinated because you're vulnerable or afraid, do it. If that means getting your diabetes under control, do it. If that means you finally stop smoking, do it.

You do whatever it takes to protect yourself. Just stop trying to force your will on others.

Can only hope.

Because it's about concern for health? Or punitive actions taken because people won't comply? Pretty clear this opinion is the latter.

I propose they test everyone's BMI at the gates and only those under 25 can enter.

Health is our main focus, right?

Only grilled chicken salads and water at concessions. It is a matter of public health after all!

My FIL sustained a significant chest injury (9 broken ribs, collapsed lung, bleeding in pleural space) in a cycling accident 6 weeks ago. In hospital 11 days. He’s having complications with drainage and his pulmonologist wants him back in the hospital for treatment, but as of last Friday there were no beds in an 8 county radius (Charlotte NC). Do you know why there are no beds? I know it’s just one example, but that’s why it matters and why I care.

It seems there is a lot of chat about some people who get vaccinated are still getting Covid. And that is true. But the vaccine has in alot of cases made the symptoms much milder, assuming that person doesn’t have underlying health issues. So that in itself is a benefit. And this freedom argument about getting the vaccine is lame as hell. The government tells you all the time what you can and can’t do. It’s a crime to drive without a license or car insurance. It’s against the law to drink if you are under the arbitrary age of 21. It’s crime to smoke meth. It’s required for a person turning 18 to register for the selective service. All examples of the endless list of the government infringing on one’s freedoms to chose.

The states goal of vaccination requirement for entry is to prevent covid spread. It's very clear the vaccine does not prevent covid spread, it only hinders it.

It does a good job at preventing serious illness but that is no consideration as a requirement for admission.

Finally it's entirely disingenuous to have any requirements that don't consider nature immunity.

Once again, there are arbitrary rules the government has made for the “greater good”. It’s ridiculous to think freedom is at stake in this vaccine situation. It isn’t the slippery slope that plunges the nation on a path of repeating Nazi Germany. Once again, the government tells you in thousands of incidences what you can and can’t do already.

You are talking way above your head. Each and every government restriction requires sufficient justification. If it doesn't meet the sufficient justification, it doesn't pass muster and the action is disallowed.

Here the stated purpose is for public health and to prevent transmission of covid 19. There is undeniable proof to which all agree that vaccines do not on the whole prevent transmission.

So if that is the justification, it fails or should if it's challenged. The big problem will be the immense social and economic pressure facing any lawyer who'll take the case.

Sufficient justification. Lol. You can’t be serious. There is no sufficient justification for a multitude of government policies. Such as the drinking age for example. Sufficient justification can’t be defined in any specific circumstances because it is so subjective.

False. They don't totally stop the spread but the do curtail it and it depends on the type of mask and how it's worn. A simple cloth mask is only about 20% effective but a properly worn KN95 mask can be as much as 80% effective.

This has been proven, but logically ask yourself, if masks don't prevent infections why would hospital staffs wear them?

Unfortunately because of the unwillingness for a large number of people to get vaxed, it would not surprise me if masks will be required at sporting events this year. Being outdoors definitely reduces the risk as opposed to indoors but sitting in close proximity with someone who is spreading Delta will almost guarantee you will become infected.

People not listening to the advise of medical experts is why we are in this situation and if they continue not to listen it will only get worse. I don't want to see games cancelled this year.
Hospital staff wear mask primarily for droplets/splash/blood pathogen etc. All molecule sizes are not the same and all mask are not equal. There is a reason why you don't do commercial spray painting in a surgical mask and it requires a filter.

The reality is the Covid molecules are extremely small and pass through surgical and cloth mask. Add to that the fact that there are gaps around the nose and bottom of the mask and much of the breath is escaping anyways. It is a feel good measure at best. The biggest impact it has is stopping a sneeze or cough bc that exhales droplets, as well as helping limit people touching their mouth or nose and then touching surfaces. The hand sanitizer push has a much larger direct impact as well as office spaces providing disinfectant sprays and instructing regular use.

The unvaccinated are easy vectors for spread and are a huge burden on our medical care system right now. Fact.

I would think that touching and fiddling with a dirty mask that's porous and that you've been breathing, coughing and sneezing in, would be about as bad as touching your mouth or nose maskless.

Again, vaccination for entry is supposed to be to completely prevent the spread. Everyone now admits it does not completely prevent the spread. Hospital beds are just a Strawman/non sequitur as it relates to entry to a venue.

Zero covid is not possible. Zero risk is not possible. If you're that concerned, stay home and post on one of your multiple catpaw accounts

It’s looking more and more likely if you refuse to get vax’d you’ll be staying home while we go to the games.

I don't doubt that for a second. Absent legal intervention, this is all but certain. We'll see who if anyone wants to commit career suicide

I'm fine with not going, if this is their position. I don't sacrifice my rights, my principles, nor my physical condition just so I can go watch a football game.

You're the only one saying this. You keep setting up this same strawman and knocking it down, then strutting around patting yourself on the back over it. This makes as much sense as saying speed limits and seat belt laws exist to completely prevent death in car accidents, but since everyone admits you can still die in a car accident while wearing a seatbelt and driving the speed limit, it's a tyrannical attack on my freedom for the government to tell me how I can and can't use my car. There is a legitimate public health justification for mitigating the spread of a highly infectious disease that is sending people to the hospital by the thousands every day.

Just announced today in Louisville 75% were unvaccinated. Doesn't matter, it's a non sequitur. Vaccines for admission is only justified if the vaccine prevents the spread. It doesn't. The end.

Is there a vaccine for creating multiple catpaw accounts?

It isn't a Strawman. It's the only issue in play. Is mitigation enough? That will be the question and it's never been addressed. In the past, any justification was based on prevention and elimination. Mitigation will be novel.
