For those of us who choose not to follow male cheerleaders on Twitter, define "mass casualties." One of my neighbors is from Louisville and his folks still live there

From what I've seen on Twitter, unconfirmed but Winston County Medical Center may have been hit

TWC showed a pic of the Med Center. Looked like windows blown out and sheet metal in the field across from the parking lot, reporter said cars were tossed in the lot.

Brandon/Pearl, MS under the gun right now. Very bad situation in the Jackson Metro area.

One also passed very near the Nissan plant in Canton a few minutes ago, as well.

I cannot recall MS ever seeing an outbreak like this before.

I missed this earlier...

but Hamilton, Hackleburg, and Phil Campbell, AL were nearly wiped off the map in the 2011 outbreak... also were right in the confirmed path of a tornado about an hour ago.

Lots of damage south of I20 in Brandon towards where new Brandon HS is. We got as far as Bob Boyt Honda and the cars on lot are ruined. Busted out windows.

Looks like Northwest Rankin dodged a bunch of bullets.

My 2 year old son thought it was the coolest thing ever to be playing with flashlights and jumping on a mattress in the closet. Mom and Dad were a bit more freaked out since the storms were bearing down right when the power went out. WLBT had a camera on a tower somewhere that was following that hail storm moving through south of Jackson and said tornadoes would be behind it. Tracked it moving northeast and boom... no power. Big time kudos to the Entergy folks for getting out as soon as possible and getting the power back to as many as they could as quickly as possible. When the worst we got was some insulation from construction in the neighborhood on our roof and six hours of no power, I consider myself lucky as all get out.

Yes. I was sitting in WalGreens on Hugh Ward when the alert that one was one ground in Pearl was sent. I promptly hauled *** home. We are in the Willows of Castlewoods and we were the only neighborhood to have power. All the rest of Castlewoods: Azalea Trails, Woodlands, and old Castlewoods are on Entergy power and were out including NWR. The Willows gets our power from Central Electric out of Sand Hill. We also have underground utilities. My friends in the Woodlands still didn't have power at 5:00 am. All of Lakeland was out except for emergency power.

And again I'll commend Comcast. Never lost cable throughout the entire night. I was having to text people with DTV/Dish because all they had was their phones and the tornado sirens. They couldn't watch their local news to know where it was.

That was from a tweet from MEMA yesterday which originally stated something to the effect that "mass casualties possible" when they found out that the hospital in Louisville took a direct hit.

7 peopke were confirmed killed in MS with several more battling life threatening injuries. The point was clear.

Mass casualties means multiple deaths and/or injuries, not necessarily multiple deaths. I don't know the extent of it but Louisville was hit really hard.
