Senate Democrats say privately that they will not allow the government to shut down Saturday, despite growing pressure from activists and liberal lawmakers who want them to kill a GOP-crafted six-month stopgap spending bill.

Senate Democratic sources say Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) is giving plenty of room to centrists in his caucus to vote for the House-passed continuing resolution (CR) if doing so is the only way to avoid a government shutdown at week’s end.

Democrats look to save face in shutdown battle

1 Democrat in the Congress voted yes. If 9 Democrats don't vote yes in the Senate then the Democrat Party can explain why they want to Shut the Government Down. It's obviously not to save money. That's the story. Not two Libertarians from Kentucky who have been consistent.
After seeing some reports this morning, I'm hoping Schumer was just vomiting on the Senate floor. Maybe 50/50 still on whether it gets through.

The FBI Agents and DOJ Prosecutors currently Investigating their Fraud, Waste, and Abuse are willing to work for free for awhile so they might as well pass it so Meemaw gets her SS check.

The Democrats used our hard earned tax dollars as their personal piggy banks and to fund schemes so they stay in power and keep their gravy train going.

So the CR passed, and the dems have no way to add to the budget for the next 6 months to pay back their campaign donors for the $2.5 billion Harris spent.
That's tough, man.
Wait, the debt limit fight is still coming thanks to massie and the freedom clowns not voting for a suspension of it back in Dec so the dems will have one last chance to reward their donors because now we need dem votes to raise the debt limit because of Massie and the freedom clowns...
see how that works?

The people who voted for the Freedom Caucus "Clowns" voted for Trump. They made the difference in swing States.

Federal spending can be a good thing and it can be an economic driver, however, that spending must be directed towards things that are beneficial and actually produce something.... So, I will say spending isn't a problem, but what we are spending on is a problem. It's time to knock off spending on social programs for illegals, DEI, and stop giving money to our enemies. We need to take a strong look at our social programs and reform them.... We also need to claw back money that the tax payer lost via abuse of programs like medicare and medicade....and toss those people who scammed us in jail!!!

We also need to stop giving away money via the student loan program AND more importantly, we need to bring back conscription.

Finally, every gov't agency should be required to report...on their website....what our money is being spent on.
Spending is a huge problem. What we are spending on is a huge problem.

There needs to be federal spending but we overspend on mostly stupid **** and we should and can cut about 75% of our spending in most areas of government and cut a load of fat at the big programs without hurting their necessities (defense, entitlements, public health)

Bongino is a glorified mall cop. Please.

I can imagine it now. "Give me liberty, or give me death in 6 months because I have to tell everyone goodbye". -Patrick Henry in this Congress

Getting sworn in next week. Thought I would let you know because of the man crush you secretly have on him. Even though he won't actually be putting handcuffs on anyone he will definitely be giving some orders to get it done.

Responsibilities as deputy director include assisting the director and leading prominent investigations. All other FBI executives and special agents in charge report to the director through the deputy director.

WTF.

Democrats are huge liars. The only person cutting Medicaid benefits is New York Gov Kathy Hochul. She even had disabled New Yorkers arrested for protesting about it!She overhauled the Medicaid home healthcare CDPAP program and handed the entire contract to one company (PPL) after she RIGGED the bidding.- 600+ NY businesses will shut down- 100,000 NYers will lose their benefits- $1 billion is going to a union who “fight Trump”- The consulting company who advised her to choose PPL owns 25% of PPL- PPL is not NY based and has failed in multiple other states- This switch will cost providers more who will transfer the costs to patientsIt will go into effect April 1st if it’s not stopped. This is the epitome of government waste, fraud, and corruption.

Per OMB, if tarrifs just stay as they are, $3 trilliion in revenue will be generated in the next 10 years. That's $300 billion per year or $822 million per day for the math challenged.

Add in the $1.6 trillion in savings from the Big Beautiful Bill, and you have $4.6 trillion less debt spending over ten years.

For some reason, the fiscal hawk Thomas massie and most of his supporters are opposed to both the tariffs and the big beautiful bill.

Imagine that.

Imagine that.

When the CBO scores it it will come out as a 4 trill dollar debt

I'm so happy. It seems that with Rand Paul's and Massie's stupid opposition to the big beautiful bill, the narrative has shifted and the the fiscal clowns are losing much of the gop base that they conned for the last 15 years while they supported open borders that their low wage supporting donors wanted.

The con is over for many. So many are waking up to the fact that the people like Paul and massie sold them a bill of goods under "muh principles" as the clowns are forced to fight against tax cuts for workers because of "debt" while at the same time fighting against tariffs which would decrease the debt. Trump is also making them come out in the open against a secure border and mass deportations as the clowns battle for their low wage, wanting donors.

It's marvelous.

Then today, the same Thomas Massie again sided with every Democrat to oppose $9.4 billion in DOGE spending cuts — because the recissions package also included a resolution that makes further spending cuts to BBB, the very thing he claimed he wanted.

So no, it’s not about spending cuts.

It’s about his terminal TDS.
