I would assume grammar and spelling would be a strength for them and an obvious weakness for us***

I guess that's better than "are" for "our" ...

At least "out" can be attributed to an unnoticed typo, whereas "are" can only be because of illiteracy.

Glad to see our reputation precedes us. It could be worse.

The key to the NU offense is QB Kain Colter running the read option. He is the main reason why our run game has thrived. His primary TB option, Venric Mark, is very fast and surprisingly effective between the tackles for a little guy (180 lbs).

Colter and Mark rely on quickness, which means the athleticism of your front seven is critical. Penn State had great success in shutting down our read option by committing their beast of a DE to crashing down and disrupting the read before it could develop. This was early in the season and the Cats perimeter blocking has improved a bit.

But if MSU puts 8-9 guys in the box, then Colter has to be able to exploit passing opportunities, which is very much in question. Our best wideout is Christian Jones, a big (6'3" 225) speedy guy who will draw your outstanding corner. The matchup issue here will then focus on #2 Demetrius Fields and quite possibly frosh superback Dan Vitale, who was a problem for B1G linebackers once he learned the offense.

I don't know how MSU speed compares to Vanderbilt, but I thought NU was as fast as VU on grass.

On defense, NU will be susceptible to your QB and his downfield skills. Our best corner, Van Hoose, is about 5'11" and we have struggled to defend against big receivers even when positioning has been good.

8 or 9 in the box? We prefer 3.

What is this 8-9 in the "box" you speak of? We know nothing of this or this safety help thing I hear a lot of people talk about

Pass rush, you want to talk about pass rush?**

I'm expecting our Thorpe Award winner to pull up a little lame after one of your "scrappy possession receivers" runs by him on a skinny post.

Ha ha. You guys are almost as cynical as some of our fans in talking about our coaches, especially the guy who coaches our secondary. I sometimes wonder if he has gotten death threats from some of our crazier fans.

yeah most of us are not to enamored with our defensive schemes or lack thereof. I doubt anyone round here sends threats though. Sarcasm is abundant here.

that said, we have not stopped or even vaguely thwarted a spread rushing attack yet. why throw it when you can run it all day long?
