FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Fayetteville police say Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones was arrested early Thursday on a felony drug charge after officers found him in a parked car, cutting up what was suspected to be cocaine.</p>

A police report says officers approached the car and found Jones inside, using a credit card to chop up a white substance. Police say an officer drew his handgun after Jones did not immediately show his hands.</p>

Police say they found a jar with possible marijuana residue inside the car and a plastic bag of what was likely cocaine. Officers say Jones admitted he had cocaine.</p>

Police say two others inside the car, Jared Hicks and Benjamin Cook, were also arrested on misdemeanor drug charges.</p>

Former University of Florida basketball standout Teddy Dupay was arrested in Utah on charges of felony rape, aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault, according to a report from FLORIDA TODAY news partner The News-Press of Fort Myers.

All are first-degree felonies, according to the Park City (Utah) Park Record. Dupay, 29, has been charged with an attack in a lodge in Deer Valley, Utah. The Record reported that the charges results from an alleged assault at the Stein Eriksen Lodge. Dupay was a multi-sport standout at Cape Coral's Mariner High School best known for setting a state scoring record in basketball and was Florida's Mr. Basketball in 1998. He later played at the University of Florida and participated in the 2000 Final Four. The Park City paper reported that he was arrested and booked into the Summit County jail on June 19 after the alleged attack on a 28-year-old woman. The paper reported that the victim had a two-year relationship with Dupay. He reportedly posted $40,000 bail and was released from the Utah jail on June 19. The Gainesville Sun reported that Dupay hit or kicked the woman "150 times after locking the door of the room."

150 times behind a locked door. If you are getting hit or kicked that many times by a large athlete, you would think counting the blows would be difficult and not very important at the time.

Not "about 150." 150. Interesting.

Further, if a professional athlete's 150 blows to a woman do not cause death, he was not really putting his heart into it. He can do better.

Major Parker, the captain of the 2000 team, was arrested outside The Oaks Mall in Gainesville in December 2003 on felony federal charges of dealing cocaine in an undercover sting. Parker pleaded guilty to a count of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine after cooperating with authorities. He was sentenced in February 2006 to six months of house arrest and two-and-half years probation.

And 25 years for Dontae'

didn't gain about 100 lbs, and quit the team right before a game in front of thousands of people.

just kidding, of course, sort of.

better lawyer? I don't know. One sounds way too light. The other, too harsh. But, like I have said, the fact that we are keeping a drug dealer incarcerated too long -- it's hard for me to give a ****.

Why do so many people give a **** that Dontae is going to spend most of his adult life in jail? I know its something I haven't lost any sleep over.

I mean, I might agree that sentence is pretty harsh, one thing I know is that is 25 years that particular dealer will not be out on the streets. So, I dont' give a **** how long they lock him up. And I am with you: I don't see why anybody else cares either. It's like they care because it is Dontae. And I surely don't see anything that fat lazy bastard deserves any special consideration for. Snow bowl = 5 years off his sentence? please.

the snow bowl was pretty awesome. I'd give him leniency on those grounds.

Nobody's losing sleep over a drug dealer being in jail, it's that the sentence was ridiculously unjust as compared to similar offenses (major parker ex #1). There is also the whole "war on drugs is a waste of time and money" argument, but let's not have that here, mmmkay.

25 years for some white powder that makes you high is fukcing ridiculous. I personally know someone who killed somebody else in a drinking and driving accident and they served 8 years. That's less than 1/3rd of Dontae's sentence and the guy I know actually killed another human being. If you don't see that Starkville's judicial system is waaay beyond fukced, then I find it truly amazing that you have the ability to log onto a computer and type on a keyboard.

I won't argue with you. But I still don't give a **** that Dontae Walker will spend a long time in jail. He's the poster child for everything that was wrong about our football program from 2001 to about 2005. So, no, I really don't even come close to giving a **** about what happens to him.

I mean, yes, I would rather the guy that kills someone get a longer sentence. But, that doesn't mean that I give two ***** if Dontae dies in prison, gets raped in prison, rapes in prison, or learns weight management in prison.

Do I think he should have gotten 25 years? I don't know. Maybe. Probably not. If I consider the normal sentences for various crimes, I would say that it falls outside the norm -- too long. But, perhaps I think the norm is inadequate. Perhaps I just really don't give a **** if a damn drug dealer gets screwed by the ****** criminal justice system in Starkville. So what if it should have only been 5 and it was 25. What? Is Tyson chicken lamenting the loss of one more rehabilitated prisoner to put on the gutting line? Is the do-nut place in Starvkille missing revenue?

Could it be that a bunch of dope smokers look at what happened to Dontae and think "Holy ****, that's unfair. That could be me!" It probably is unfair. But, I just don't give a ****.
