Mitch is Big Corporate yes man, using this state's conservative base to advance their agenda. He has done nothing for the state he represents, while supposedly being one of the most powerful persons in American politics. Will not vote for him.
I hate mitch and I dont disagree..but why do you think Jones "hasnt decided yet"....its bc no one will back him, the establishment and corporate dems have chosen fighter pilot....and only bc they are so dumb they think that will pull red voters.

However, it doesnt matter who runs...this will be on the same ticket as the presidential election. As much as ppl hate mitch...they know if some economically illiterate sugar daddy like Bernie won or "I've got a policy for that, even tho my data is from the 80s" Warren...mitch will end all of their face value government should be so big we try to automate your life policy.

Typical ignorant sentiment from the left.

Matt Jones has no more intentions of running for the U.S. senate against Mitch McConnell than I do. Jones craves attention like no glory ***** I've ever seen.
I mean can you imagine this big, goofy, clown as a senator from our state. How embarrassing would that be? It would be as bad as when the people in Minnesota elected that idiot Al Franken.

Without any democrat backing I don't think he has deep enough pockets to win against Mitch. I ran for a local county wide office once and can tell you that people will vote for their bitter enemy in most cases if they are paying. If you think that doesn't still go on then you are just naïve.

Yup.

Mitch has been in office my entire life and hasn't done **** for Kentucky. We still suck at everything but basketball, smoking, being poor, being fat and dying of cancer.

I guess if only we had the right person in office, you wouldn't be a poor, fat smoker dying of cancer. The problem with you is that you want politicians to make your choices for you. Liberals suck (not all, just the ones who blame their poor health or poor station in life on their senator)

Socialism and Fascism are on opposite ends of the political spectrum.

It is actually something like this.

If you wrongly think Trump as fascist, or can't see that Bernie Sanders is an actual communist by his own words, then you are either misinformed/ignorant or naive/deluded.

I'd happily vote for MJ because I think he genuinely cares about the state and people, where he cam from.

He would have to come out against the demonstrable leftist lies such as white privilege, racial oppression and implied racism which do nothing but harm society, have us in the end celebrating convicted sex offenders reading to children and human feces on city sidewalks

Nothing more basic than taking less taxes which he passed last year. Our federal govt has not shown it is efficient at taking what they get. So feel free:

How do I make a contribution to the U.S. government?
Citizens who wish to make a general donation to the U.S. government may send contributions to a specific account called "Gifts to the United States."

This account was established in 1843 to accept gifts, such as bequests, from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the United States. Money deposited into this account is for general use by the federal government and can be available for budget needs.

These contributions are considered an unconditional gift to the government. Financial gifts can be made by check or money order payable to the United States Treasury and mailed to the address below.

Would you ask republicans to individually do the same? And don't answer with "republicans don't believe in that in the first place." I want to see each republican and democrat candidate answer the same questions. Ask them on the record, "do you believe in white privilege? Do you think there is racial oppression in the US?"

Spoiler: 98% of them will all say the same thing or refuse to give a direct answer.

Republicans aren’t using it as a way to abuse people’s emotions and ignorance into votes.

Republicans do other things in there own sort of version of political correctness, but what is happening with the modern American left is really inexcusable... Not even Obama was woke enough for them.

That's not an answer. If you have to hear it from Matt Jones' mouth, shouldn't you expect the same of other candidates?

I am being forthright if you think I'm avoiding the question.

It is an answer because the left is making the sowing of this type of division a part of their overall agenda and platform, and it's something I cannot support. The right by default doesn't support it because they champion family values typically and personal responsibility, the capability of the individual.

A vote for MJ, to that end, would hypothetically inject some sanity into Washington. That Spoiler: 98% of them will all say the same thing or refuse to give a direct answer. is because there is too much insanity going around, too much disingenuous twisting of words to make things look bad that arent in the name of political expediency. It doesn't matter if your voter is informed or not, believes in lies, just that he/she or they zer votes for you.

OK. I can agree with most of that. As stated in another similar thread, I look at the candidates as individuals and not just D and R. I'd love to see those questions asked to everyone in congress just so that the constituency would see them all squirm. Maybe then we'd realize that very few are willing/able to provide honest answers to simple questions. Hopefully Matt would answer honestly, but I don't think he should have to unless everyone else does as well. That's just my take.

That's fair... I think if he used it as part of his platform, like say those folks in Appalachia certainly didn't receive any white privilege in their lives, he could use it to ingratiate himself to conservatives there and that would force a conversation about this deluded woke politics and Mitch would have to answer.

He'd have to carefully and thoroughly pick his words, not just speak honestly. But that's what law school is for, learn both sides of an argument and how to effectively persuade; there has to be some way to get outta this post truth era nonsense.

Huh? Have you seen our football program?

I have. That's why I will write in a vote for Mark Stoops. If he can bring Kentucky football to back to back 7-5 records followed up by a 10 win season, he will have no problem balancing the budget and solving the pension crisis.

Here's why MM gets my vote:

As of August 1, 2019, the United States Senate has confirmed 144 Article III judges nominated by President Trump, including 2 Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, 43 judges for the United States Courts of Appeals, 99 judges for the United States District Courts.

This is how you end liberalism in the legal system.

The problem is that 90% of the country will only see how Republican candidates answer.

The media(both sides) is one of the biggest problems in this country, if not the biggest.

To be somewhat fair, it would be much bigger news for a Republican to a) have to answer those questions and b) have to answer them honestly. Change the questions for the democrats (socialist ideas, their net worth vs. their charitable giving) and maybe it would be bigger news.

I think you nailed it with this. This has been a giant publicity stunt by Jones. Years ago there was a TV personality, a simpleton hippie type whose character was Pat Paulsen. Pat Paulsen ran for President as part of his comedy act. Jones is running for the Senate as part of his radio show. It drives the ratings and keeps his fans praying and hoping he will beat that Mean Old Mitch. Good little Jones vs. Mean Old Mitch.

It is quite the comedy act. If Jones was the Senator from Kentucky and showed how ignorant he was to the world Kentucky would never live it down. So is it give up the most powerful seat in Congress to a yokel from the sticks who walks around New York City with his head in the air watching pigeons on the 75th floor?

What I'm saying, if it reflected negatively on the Democrat then 90% of the national news outlets would bury it. You know this.

It's why Trump has to tweet so many things, some of which are ridiculous. It forces them to cover those things. If he weren't President then we'd never hear how Dems answered other than local news.

Howard Stern ran for NY governor for the same reason. Publicity.

This. This is why MM has my vote. He has been a roadblock to the liberalism that is trying its best to run rampant and I commend him for it.

Jones issued a statement today that he is in fact anti-human feces on the sidewalk. I’ll try to find a link
