That was 2014, In all due respect this team is much better.
They may be the best team since 1997 and that crosses two state championships teams. Still, there is a lot of football left to be played.

It's really tough to call, I'm leaning Monroe if they stay healthy, but Salisbury is an unknown to me. Any of the top 6 in the west could win it.

I’ve watched Clinton they are good but someone said they could beat most 4a teams ! Just stop

Defense is pretty quick ,offense has some running backs but they can’t throw it a lick! They are an above average 2a team but there are several teams just in 2a that can beat them

Don’t crown them yet is what I’m saying

I agree with you on Monroe and Salisbury. I have seen Monroe, and they played well against a very good West Charlotte team. They are very athletic. Salisbury has looked scary good, but we’ll have seen that movie before, so it’s hard to tell if they are for real or not. Forest Hills has impressed. However, I wasn’t impressed with their recent outing vs CCD.

As for Shelby, if you asked around in the community, seemingly most will say “3rd round”. Hate to play this card, but we are really young in some spots, and the transfer portal definitely weakened us some. Those departed players were replaced by kids who should be playing jv ball, but they had to step in, and learn on the fly.

That said, I definitely feel like Shelby is capable of beating anyone in 2A. This is the year to get us, though. That well ran dry temporarily. We have some serious young talent coming up the pipeline.

FH plays monroe two weeks from Friday. Being an FH fan. We can win we’re good. It’s gonna be a rumble.But I’ll really start getting excited if we best monroe about our shot at the west. Of course I was pulling for the DarkHorses in 2014 but I do not remember confidently picking a Clinton win Respectully that team was nothing like this 2023 model; nothing at all.

Unfortunately my nephew ryheem skinner which is my older sister son wouldn't have helped us that year neither would any other back. I was there n shelby completely shut him n the whole clinton offense down. Nephew was coming in with over 2,000 rushing yards nothing matter. And he also got 2,000 the next year only to get robbed by bunn to go back to the ship or was it northside. I remember shelby having about 3 or 4 turnovers n we couldn't score on none of them

Wish we had that game again with more maturity the night before and not spending the night. Would most definitely have been a different outcome.

Just make sure that pipeline does not detour to Boiling Springs. Lack of success or a subpar season now days makes parents want to bounce.

North Stanly isn't a conference game for us is probably what he meant. Monroe is our first conference game. North Stanly has definitely improved from what they use to be. We once beat them 91-6. Our coaches won't overlook them just hope our players don't either.

Nope speak for yourself. Im not giving the Eastern Champion to anyone in week 5. I agree Clinton is the heavy favorite but I remember last year and everyone was saying ED couldn't beat Reidsville. Most were saying they would get blown out by 40 or 50 points. Other than the Wiz and Dogs79. I give them credit. Now before some of y'all start losing your minds I not saying ED is the team to do it heck they may not even win Friday night. And if Clinton does I'll say good luck and go bring back the title to the east. So don't say everyone Goob!!!
