Once again not really sure who is paying to have middle creek at the top of this poll. Also not really sure why east forsyth dropped for beating a team by 40.

I think middle creek, and pinecrest both are over ranked in this.

This poll is important because it's used for the nc playoffs

I think Vance and SC are also a little under valued as well.

its used after conference finish record and all that stuff
first, last tie breaker instead of a draw/coin flip.Correct?

yes if i read it correctly. it matters. I think the best thing is too just keep winning and hope you are the only undefeated left. are they still dropping one game? I have more of an issue with that than the poll. why play the game if it doesn't count when it comes to playoffs.

It's not used to determine conference standings...the last tiebreak for conference standings is still a draw, just like before.

MaxPreps will only be used for the final tie break when seeding each regional "pod". Why it's significant is because it will be used to hand out #1 seeds if the tied teams didn't play each other and they both have identical records.

The simple answer...yes and no.

1) Playoff fields are determined by 10 game record only, but in breaking ties for the 64th slot, the dropped 11th game may be used to break the tie if it was a head-to-head result.

2) Once the 64 teams are split up into 2 subdivisions and 8 team "pods", then Conference #1s are sorted by 10 game records, then everyone else is sorted by 10 game records. The 1st tie breaker in both of these sorts is head-to-head results, in which case the dropped 11th game may be used. The 2nd tiebreaker is 11 game overall record.

SO, in theory, you can drop the 11th game. In reality, however, it still breaks ties in every stage of the playoff field determining process, so it doesn't really go anywhere.

11 games or not it still figures into your maxprep rating
all the games, the last game of the season is on a Friday night
. Will max prep have their ranking adjusted for Saturday
morning seeding. A lot of us have very big games last week
of season that could sure aid or otherwise in ranking. If the last
week isn't ready by the next day morning then this maxprep
thing is NO GOOD.

Another good point! MaxPreps hasn't been updating these rankings until late Sunday night each week. The NCHSAA football handbook says "latest available", but unless they've cut a deal with MaxPreps, then the latest available will not include all 11 games.

I don't want to create a new thread but had a quick question. In the rules, if a game is not an endowment game the cost has to be 6$ correct?

It's going to change so much: Davie Co, West Forsyth & Mt Tabor in the CPC all ahead of CPC preseason favorite North Davidson. I just can't take this serious until the end of the conference play. It's strictly based on SOS right now.

Simmons also says that Shelby is better than every team you just mentioned except for the two Creeks.

The day Shelby beats Dudley, Butler, Vance, Catholic, Scotland, Richmond, East Forsyth, Page or Wake Forest is the day I'll buy everyone on this board a Yoohoo.

Heck, the day Middle Creek beats any of these teams, I'll buy everyone on this board a Yoohoo. I hope no one's very thirsty.
