How could they have a clock for their 3rd biggest rival? How could they have a clock when they say it's childish?</p>

that either LSU or MSU lost a recruit, lost a ballgame, or had a coach arrested, can you honestly tell me that it wouldn't make any difference to you as to which school it was? I completely understand that you see both teams as huge rivals, but I refuse to ever believe that any OM fan sees them as a 100% equal.

too many UM friends and family etc. to ever buy anything remotely like LSU is the real rival. I mean I have heard all the UM ******** for my whole life. . .day in and day out. I have listened to old folks tell in minute detail about every play Charlie Connerly participated in. I have heard about Archie Who? . . .and then they beat Tennessee! I have listened to literally years and years of Confederate stories of glory days and have talked to people who could name the water boy on the 1932 Ole Miss football squad. BUT what I never heard until about the last 5 to 10 years (outside the story of the one season of the "punt return" then how the mighty Rebels beat them when it counted in the Sugar Bowl) is that LSU was a rival of Ole Miss. I have heard countless MSU stories of rivalry, but not once did any of these Rebels ever talk to me about how LSU was their rival. On another maybe even more convincing note, I have never heard anyone from LSU claim Ole Miss as a rival.<div>
</div><div>This is a complete Ole Miss delusion that started around the time Eli came to town and they thought they were about to repeat their one decade of national significance. They imagined themselves as equals with the big boys of the time, so they had to make them a rival if even only in their minds. They thought they were about to win the national championship, someone mentioned the Billy Cannon season, and how "you know LSU is really our rival" and Rebel nation took up the mantra.</div>

If anything it's the other way around, and people have only been claiming State as the main rival the last 10-15 years. Y'all were so irrelevant for so long that the egg bowl was always meaningless. There were lots of OM-LSU games back in the day that had huge Implications, and was one of the fiercest rivalries in the country until our decline into mediocrity. Name one egg bowl that was ever played for something more meaningful than an independence bowl invite.

Ken Shamrock being Tito Ortiz's "rival". Or Tito being Chuck Liddel's. Or a pimple on my ***. It's an assenine thought. The ONLY (and I mean only) way u beat them is when thier dumbass coach ***** the bed in clock management. Otherwise ur shittastic school is only good for laughs in the conference.

And our overall record against them is very similar to y'alls overall against us. If we're not worthy to be their rival you aren't worthy to be ours.

I lived it. I know what happened. I know what I have heard my entire life. And yes part of the ******** I heard was that Ole Miss was a national power for the century before the 70s, which is also total ******** unless by century you mean from the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s. Do you even know the story of why there is a trophy for the Ole Miss/State winner? Do you know what year the trophy was first given away? Do you know about Ole Miss students parading down Main Street in Starkville with the goal post form the game? Do you know when that was? To sit here and claim that State was never Ole Miss' rival until the last fifteen years is a prime example of the delusion I was talking about.

I'm just saying that the OM-MSU series wasn't competitive until the last 20 years. Yes you were considered a main rival, but so was LSU and you're the one that is delusional if you deny that. Our ineptness recently has slowly killed our LSU rivalry, but many older fans from both sides still consider each other arch rivals.

We've had games that had bigger implications with bama in the last 20 years than Ole Miss.

me as another who believes om to be nothing more than an unsightlydingleberry hanging from LSU's otherwise cleanbo bo. your not even close to their league in the last 20. Your only hope is a day game in BR.

It was 52-6 last year btw. They lined up in the V formation with 5 minutes to go at your 5 yrd line. you om boys have to be good golfers....you forget alot andonly remember the good ones.

In the last 42 years you have exactly 13 wins against them. Ur batting .309. And like my colleague so astutely pointed out, it would be even worse if not for Eli - the OM messiah. He has a fourth of those wins. You guys crushed them for about 12 to 15 years pre-integration. I'm sure they hated y'all then. Maybe when the next manning comes through Grenada w/o the lake (thanks coach), y'all can be their "rival" again for four years.

I got news for you sonny, EVERYBODY hates LSU, everybody immensely enjoys beating them, and everybody enjoys watching them lose. Just like with all traditional powerhouses - Bama, The Ohio State, notre dame, USC, etc. it comes with the territory. Y'all arent special.

I said last 20 years. We're either 8-12 or 7-13 against them in that timeframe depending on how you look at the forfeit. You're 8-12 against LSU last 20 years.
