There is no message. They are a year or two sitting in high school and trying to figure out how to get more Facebook friends while letting everyone know their every move on social media like they are a tagged endangered bird. All the sudden they are good judges of football talent and effort? They absolutely cannot be the last one back to the tent, bar, or frat house to miss the opportunity to work on the Sunday hangover. Besides. Who wants to be called out with "damn, you stayed for the whole game?"
Listen to a pack of students if you get a chance to overhear. You would be surprised how short their attention span is in this day and time. Hell at least they show up. UM has had trouble getting them in the gates and away from the fashion show.

The only message they are sending is that a piece of *** and an ice cold beer is better than watching our poorly coached team **** our pants against Bowling green on a Saturday night.

It was probably worse last night due to homecoming. I can remember girls who'd go to maybe 2 games a year, and one would be homecoming just to see the HC court. They'd get there early to get good seats and have "cheering" sections for their girl, then be gone before the 3rd quarter.
HereComesTheSpiral text me earlier and said we should now just say "pulled a Mullen" instead of **** our pants, **** the bed, or any other sayings along those lines. I think we should all attempt to make this saying take off.
The OM student section was packed 30 minutes before kickoff for the TAMU game. This was an anomaly. Students know when there is excitement around a game, and they want to be a part of it. I bet the OM student section looks a lot like MSU 3rd quarter of the Idaho game. It has nothing to do with Facebook.
