Maybe Tom Herman would be the perfect guy to carry the mantle for RU.

"Herman kisses the foreheads of his offensive linemen before each game, according to the Houston Chronicle. Togetherness, clearly, isn't something he takes lightly."

I'm not so sure this will resonate well in New Jersey. There's a fine line between FAMILY/CHOP and showing endearing physical affection to 19, 20 and 21 year old "male student athletes" . Now if you told me he took the time to hug and kiss the Cougar Cheerleaders on the cheek before each game, well now we're talking. Lol

Not one post denigrating this "love" from the Flood lynch mob. Guess they are too preoccupied beating him for the 10,000th time this week.

He will be in demand because of the team's on field performance, no chance he winds up at RU.

He was my 1st choice last year. Sadly, there were rumors he actually wanted to come here..urgh... donors however wanted a name HC. That is if you want to believe internet rumors.

Maybe he still wants to be a HC in the Big Ten?

not if we put enough zeroes at the end of the check. we'd have to overpay, considering the competition. alumni would have to step up.

It is not going to be more than six, it is about the number to the far left.

We wouldn't have gotten him last year, Flood was 8-5 and he wasn't going to get fired off that record. The year it was possible was 2013 when I was mentioning him. Most here were on the Narduzzi bandwagon, and pretty much no one even bothered to discuss Herman despite the fact I put out all his info/background. Also donors wanted someone with HC experience. Mullen, along with Golden, was one of supposed targets but we didn't have enough money for it. I would have liked Mullen too but if we couldn't get him Herman would have been perfectly fine with me.

Now again I see people mostly neglecting coordinators for some reason. Again with the HC experience. I get wanting to have it but if you look at it in practice I don't see much difference in success/failure rates between mid major HCs and P5 coordinators. Just have to take it on a case by case basis.

Aranda/Meacham are the names I like this year and I've given the reasoning in a bunch of threads. Venables would have been good and I mentioned him in the past and he's a good recruiter too. But I've read he's quite a hot head and can be prickish so I don't know that we need that type of coach here given our history, otherwise I'd think he could be good. Because of that I cooled on him quite a bit.

Well that's something I'd have to believe to see. Of course if we put enough money into an offer and overpay it's possible but how likely is that scenario?
