Poor Shelly. Did you see those morons fly a Heller sign around Charleston yesterday instead of Shelly?
I saw mention that a wrong sign got flown but hadn't seen the story, doh! There are lots of tv and media ads telling her to vote No.

It's a **** bill drafted by a **** party. So much winning.
If a healthcare bill had been done correctly under Obama instead of the current piece of sh*t we now have....there would be no need for reform. I say let it die and go with single payer.

CBO and JCT estimate that, in 2018, 14 million more people would be uninsured under H.R. 1628 than under current law. The increase in the number of uninsured people relative to the number projected under current law would reach 19 million in 2020 and 23 million in 2026. In 2026, an estimated 51
million people under age 65 would be uninsured, compared with 28 million who would lack insurance that year under current law. Under the legislation, a few
million of those people would use tax credits to purchase policies that
would not cover major medical risks.

Back when they were making Obamacare Obama wanted single payer and not only were the Republicans against him on that enough Democrats were against him too so he wasn't able to get single payer.

You forgot to mention that the increase in the CBO number of uninsured people was by CHOICE and not that they were unable to get insurance.

If you think what we have now, that was created by the government, is a piece of ****, wait until you see what a single payer system would look like, which would be created and administered by the government.

Sort of defeats the purpose of increasing the pool size to lower rates, doesn't it?

And defeats the purpose of "responsible" people like you and I eating the cost of those who "choose" not to get insurance, doesn't it?

And also defeats the purpose of bringing in revenue from people not paying the penalty for not getting insurance, doesn't it?

I am in general a skeptic of the government doing things but on this particular topic that fact that so many other countries have so much more government involvement than us but get better results makes me wonder. We already pay twice as much per capita than other advanced countries that let the government get involved. If we change we'll get even worse? Really? I don't know.

Obamacare is a big piece of sh*t.

Because Republicans said so, right?

How come so many in Appalachia are fighting like hell against it's repeal? How come so many Americans all across the country have held town halls to voice opposition against its repeal?

Keep drinking the kool aid.

Looks to me like you're the one thats drinking the kool aid......but when it comes to anything Obama......its NO surprise. The issue with Appalachians and others is Medicaid. And most of the townhall opposition is all about politics........just like you are doing here. You ever think about being honest? I've told you what is I think is the best solution.

I need someone with half assed sense to tell me how and why we got here.

Why was Obamacare pushed? Get everyone coverage and lower cost!!!

No one was stupid enough to believe we could 20 million additional covered at lower cost. Is there any reason to believe Repubs would not want to save money and attain coverage for all? It is not logical and Repubs didn't want to do it for added cost

Money was the hanging point then and still is today. One payer adds cost to government- taxpayer. We are $20 trillion indebt. We would have to borrow cost of one payer. Govt has no other source. Higher tax would take that money out of a terrible economy and would result in a worse economy.

Obama didn't want worse economy, during his term, so he transferred Obamacare costs shortfalls to outyears to have no impact on run for second term. Medicaid was hit with a transfer of a million from uninsured rolls to Medicaid in 2015-16. Medicaid program will have shortfalls providing coverage for that million. Add a million young who just want to get out of insurance market just like they were before Obamacare forced them to have coverage they didn't want. That accounts for the 2 million the CBO says will be uncovered if they can pull plug on Obamacare.

$800 billion loss projected for Medicaid over next decade is to cover the million uncovered prior to ADA. Restore them to uncovered and you no longer have the deficit of $800. In rush to make Obamacare look good those people were forced to get coverage. Now, that cost has to be eaten, and country is going to have to face it.

Shows us how inept he really was. So....instead we get this piece of sh*t that everyone agrees will NEVER survive. In two more years zero insurance companies will offer it.

I'll go with the miner's inclusion being nixed for the folks in Appalachia and the others being paid to do so.

In all seriousness, I'm sure there are people that want it to stay, assuming they are able to keep their coverage, what does it matter. Most of the concern is generated from leftist fear mongering about the resultant impacts and not grounded in fact.

I think it shows that although whoever is POTUS gets the news, when it comes time to make the laws the POTUS doesn't really have as much power as people think. So first Obama tells the sad story of his sick mother fighting the insurance companies to become POTUS but has to compromise away some of his wishes to get Obamacare through. Then Trump says how bad Obamacare is and how he'll fix everything if he gets in and then he gets in and can't get done what he wants either because he too has to cope and compromise with Congress.

The POTUS is like the quarterback. He gets all the publicity but sometimes whether the team wins depends on the other players.

That's why I always take campaign rhetoric with a grain of salt. When one become POTUS.....they find out about a lot of things that the public never, never sees or knows about.
