Bamba won't come here imo ...if he knows what's good for him..unless he's on okafors level
How come because right now UK has Gabriel, Humphries, and Richards has already committed. Let's just say Bolden decides to leave for some reason, then Bamba would see instant PT if he comes to Duke.

I take it you disagree? Do you think this class is remotely close in talent?
I disagree with the part "won't be many OAD". Think it will be the same as every year. Someone has to get drafted.

I do agree that this class is not on the level of last years though.

You're prob correct on your first part. I really meant that there *shouldnt* be a lot of oad out of this class of the product wasn't so watered down.

Think if a Big wants Guaranteed minutes and to be force feed the ball regardless of what other talent is on the roster. Or if he is worried about not being the best big on the roster. UK is the Choice.

If he is of Oak, AD, Towns level talent it wouldn't matter where he went.

But after Bolden last year, my bet is he is going to UK. I would not blame him one bit for making that decision

Right, shouldn't vs what they do are two totally different things. It's really a shame bc it hurts them, the NBA product and the college product.

Then yes I agree with that. I feel last year there was about 10 to 15 type A talents(Sure fire OAD)

This coming year I feel there is about 2 to 4 of those "Sure Fire OAD" talents.

I'm watching delayed but wow that Bamba interview was impressive. Any chance we get him? I know everyone says no but just curious. Sounds very bright

For the record Kentucky already has two centers and a power forward committed with Gabriel and Humphries coming back if I'm not mistaken but which would really start over Bamba.
Don't like the idea of him shooting threes lol

And some reports that Bam might come back.

Also Carter and Duval really impressed me. We get Duval, I think this might be one of our best Defensive teams in years.

I was pleased with Wendell's D and his hands, especially for it to be an all star game. I thought he worked really well with Bamba. Hopefully Bamba took notice of that. Knox and Duval were really good as well. Knox had a full court drive that ended in a silky soft finish at the rim which is really tough to donat full speed. Lots of other guys tried similar plays and clanked it off the glass. Duval, for obvious reasons, would really take whatever team Duke has next year to another level. He can make stuff happen, and he plays with a certain tenacity.

The defense of Carter impressed me especially with moving against guards. Duval and Knox would be a plus

I have not seen anyone mention it, but during the early moments of the game when Collin Sexton dished a pass between the legs to Wendell, Jay Williams made the comment that Wendell would be getting looks like that with Grayson and Luke deciding to stay around. I am watching the reply and I played it twice and that is what Jay said. So are they back!?!?!?!?

But did you also hear JWill talk about that if Grayson and Luke and Jackson come back with Gary Trent and O'Connell it will be interesting to see if Duval would pick Duke given the loaded back court?
I think one has to go for Duval to come

I don't think Duval will be scared off by anyone coming or returning though. He knows he has the keys from day one.

To be a Duke legend, it seems he is not plugged in to the program near as much as you would think.

Duval elevates any team he joins from day 1. He has ridiculous handles and will put people in position to score consistently. I do want to see him get a little stronger with the ball. A couple times an opponent was able to knock it loose and at the next level that will happen more frequently. He has all the talent in the world and I hope he picks Duke.

To be honest I was impressed with all of our commits as well as considerations. However until we see our final roster and see how they gel with one another we will never quite know how good we can be. Last year was a sober reminder that all the talent in the world doesn't mean much if they don't fill all the needs and play as a team and not a bunch of individuals.

Pretty boring game, I thought. The talent was clearly a step down from last year, but last year was also pretty ridiculous when you consider some of the kids that played.

Wendell looked good in the beginning then kind of disappeared. Gary's shot was pretty broke, but trust, he can shoot it. Knox I was impressed with. He doesn't look real strong, but he played stronger than he looks, IMO. Duval has great handles....also needs to get stronger. Bamba isn't a traditional offensive big....but he's dangerous on defense. Very dangerous.

Well then we all agree one of Grayson or Luke ain't coming back. I don't see where the two come back and Jackson and some one isn't happy with coming off the bench. Pg or not that's two many guards. That's even if O'Connell was to red shirt to add muscle and weight for the college game.
Even with Duke favoring the three guard line up there is no way to sell playing time to Knox if Bolden was to return.

For starters I am simply saying that Duval is going to start regardless of who's on the roster. I do agree that someone would be unhappy sitting/coming off the bench- however as you mentioned I don't believe it'll be an issue bc I don't expect at least Luke back. Grayson has a tougher decision to make and Frank isn't going anywhere. Not sure how much O'Connell fits into the picture next year bc of his frail physique, nor would he be a concern for any of the other guys we mentioned.

What are you talking about," for starters?" I know Duval is gonna start if he comes didn't say he wouldn't. I don't expect Luke back and Frank isn't coming back to Duke to come off the bench and I do believe there is some truth to he's thinking hard about seeing where he stands in the draft to much chatter about it. If you look I said," that's even if O'Connell red shirts to add muscle and weight." I even left off Trent Jr. Never said anything about O'Connell playing. That would put Duke at Duval, Jackson, Allen and Trent in the back court which could be the best in the nation. But say you have Bolden come back with Carter and Knox come I could see a line up of Duval, Allen, Knox, Carter and Bolden but the realistic lineup would be Duval, Jackson, Allen, Knox and Carter. Imo Duke looses two more players it's the only way the roster works next season.
