Many WALK-ONS have gotten a ring and degree. What does that mean? He still was the worst scholarship player ever. He never got a ring BTW so idk where you got that from. I don't think Grayson will come back. He has absolutely nothing to gain by coming back. He will get his degree this year and he has a championship. I doubt his stock goes up as a senior. He won't be playing with the ball in his hands and I doubt he gets as many shots if Knox comes. Carter will get plenty touches next year.
So your hoping that Carter gets plenty of touches on the hopes that a Duval is at Duke?
Carter can play I like his game but this won't be a two man show and with Grayson back that allows the offense to be more spread.
If all Duke has is Carter and Duval, Knox is an ok player think he needs some weight on him to play in college and Trent Jr is good. But that makes Dukes offense predictable once again. No proven scorers to help keep defenses honest means you stop Duval and Carter you can win.

If I'm a coach, I ask my players to pretend there is no NBA during the season. It will work out better for everyone if you play for what's right there in front of you and ignore your "potential." I'm not sure if it's a great sell to some recruits, but then again, maybe that's the difference between a Bamba and an Ayton.

Backseat to Duval as far as having the ball in his hands a lot. Plus Carter will get a lot of post touches if the coaching staff isn't losing their minds. Grayson is going to have to play off the ball and focus on becoming a defensive stopper like Quinn did. If not we can put Frank out there and he can play that role perfect with no problems.
You don't think that's why he would come back? To play off the ball where he thrives and having Duval out there allows him to be the secondary ball handler and gives him a better chance in practice at working on his defense. Especially against an NBA caliber pg.

Did Grayson play the lead guard most of the season? If so I guess I missed it. Pretty sure he played off the ball plenty. Additionally he should play off the ball, it's natural position on the court. I agree he has to become a better defender, but I think you're selling him extremely short. As for Frank, whether Grayson is here or not he will get plenty of minutes next year.

Yeah sorry I was thinking about the ACC tourney. That's my fault on Hairston he still wasn't a bad player imo.
Grayson can go first round either season. This one or if he comes back.
Take a back seat to who? Who would he take a back seat to? Duval is a starter I know and get that but who else would he take a back seat to. Jackson? Trent Jr?
Once again sorry on Hairston my mistake
Ughhhh.....the same guy he took a back seat to at the end of the year...lol... man if these guys come and few stay our pick and roll or pop at the key is going to be absolutely unstoppable!!!

He will take a back seat to Jackson if he comes back ..especially if Kennard does to ...even if ur right what makes u think Grayson would stay healthy next season either lol plays with a reckless style Grayson is either on or off imo ..and spells better coming off the bench for a spark and stay or a dud and sit lmao ...suits him well imo

What makes you think Jackson stays healthy? He was in a walking boot at the beginning of the season. He's not taking a back seat to anyone should he return. " If" he comes back it isn't to come off the bench.
Jackson also plays reckless see the last couple of games when he drove.
Either way good problem to have.this is also why if we land Knox a lot see us with a line up much like this year with Tatum

If he comes back !!! It's not to score 20 ppg !! He will come back for few reasons to win and win a natty!! And have his jersey retired .or maybe prove he's not an asz? LolWhatever's best for the team he will do! Or y come back anyway ? Has nothing else to prove! Can't help his draft status I mean he is what he is..ur right though I shouldnt say he will take a back seat like I know! it's my opinion and I think he would be fine with it ...Ive been wrong before..i honestly think Allen would enjoy it more not having the spotlight on him as much and be able to soak everything in...we land Knox chit starts getting too confusing for me especially if they come back

Yes I said it! I wouldn't be sad even a little bit if both left. Grayson need to leave because he literally has nothing left to prove. He's a champion, All-American and graduate. Luke is hot right now so it would be in his best to leave. Duval and Carter will be the stars of the team next year whether people like it or not. Duval being the point guard and Carter being the post presence. Like when Tyus and Jahlil came took over in 2015. If Grayson and Luke are willing to take a smaller scoring role and play defense then it would be great to have them back.

If Duval plays like he did today in college I'd be more worried.
I'll hold my reservation until I see them play in a college game.
People also forget Tyus and Jah were best friends and had that chemistry and the want to play together in college.

Grayson handled the ball plenty. Grayson was the playmaker. He was 2nd in usage rate so don't try to tell me he wasn't the primary ball handler. Only reason Tatum had a higher rate is because most of his touches were isolations or the play was actually ran for him. Like I said if he comes back next year he's going to have to play a secondary role. Duval is going to be the ball handler

Grayson is a national champion. Grayson is gonna be a great pro.

I'm completely fine losing Grayson if it improves our chances with Duval and/or Knox.

When the four, Duval, Knox, Carter and Bamba were on the floor together (along with Sexton) I thought they showed some good chemistry. The pieces seem to fit well..

He is not NBA ready, I watch a ton of NBA who do you think Grayson can guard in the NBA? Grayson is a good athlete but he is not a quick-twitch athlete like the NBA has. Grayson couldnt even D up Quinn Cook after his two years in the NBDL( Quinn was just MVP of the DLeague All-Star game). Grayson needs to learn how to defend college players before he can step into the NBA (and stick), he also has mediocre ball handling when compared to Pro's. Like I said I love Greedy and they way he plays he just has things to develop. Right now if he went he would go right to the D league when the season starts.

How can the back court of Duval (if he comes), Trent, Frank (if he stays), Alex and one of Grayson/Luke, not get everyone excited. The talent, the ability to score, a true PG, versatility, athleticism and leadership. Now it changes a bit if neither Grayson nor Luke return.

The front court has just as many what ifs that if some pan out will offer a solid group. Just in this group there's a lot resting on the development of Javin, Vrank and Jack.

Grayson would be considered a combo not a pg. he would come in for his shooting and scoring. A specialist. Which if you watch as much NBA you know their is a ton of players in the league making bank of being a specialist player. Defense, Shooters, rebounding, attacking the basket.
I find it funny everyone thinks every player in the league is an all star or is scoring twenty points a night or averaging five steals or five blocked shots. Lol how you know Grayson couldn't stop Cook? Didn't it take two years in the D league for him to find his way to an NBA roster? He worked at it

Just like it will take time to for him to develop, and I know he cant not stop Quinn cause he cant even stop regular college guards from breaking him down off the dribble and getting to the cup. Truth be told Grayson and Luke have the worse on ball defense on the team. Why do you think our d has been awful for 2 years? It is not all their fault but they are a big part of it.
