Walker's Drive-in. There was also a place burried over there near McDades liquor store that was good for lunch. Don't forget Cherokee if she's that type of girl (fat).

Char is pretty damn good...Buffalo Wild Wings in Ridgeland if you're cravin wings. Nick's is a good greek spot. Two Sisters (or is it three?) is good down home cooking...There's a new (new to me, anyway) pizza place near the Med Center downtown, can't remember the name but the food is very good.

I think you are talking about Bon Ami...and it is very good and somewhat neuveau. The Cherokee has gone around the bend with the new owners. Last time I was there the onion rings were horrible and the patented cheeseburger was not the one I used to crave.

Speaking of hamburgers, if you are looking for the best in town...I will second the call for Char. Hidden secret--ask for the cheddar cheese on it and ask for onion rings instead of fries. Killer!

Also on the list to try, Bravo (still good) and Nicks on Lakeland by the Baptist Clinic.

but you'll be worthless for the rest of the afternoon.

there are lots of good local places downtown, if that's where you want to go. the mayflower, the elite, and two sisters are all very good - and places with character. miller's grocery has a great cheesesteak, and pizza shack has great pizza. char and walker's are both good as well.

Is to sleep in (wink, wink).

Go to the Natural Science Museum at LeFleu's Bluff State Park. It sounds lame, but they have a lot of aquariums and is actually a really cool place. Best museum in Jackson by far.

Breakfast- Broad Street Deli/Primo's- grits!

Lunch- Keifer's/ Rooster's/Stamp's

Dinner- My personal favorite is the Mayflower. It's kind of like Medival Times Mississippi style because you can watch the waitresses beat up the homeless people that ask their customers for money and stuff like that. Make sure you sit FACING the street. It is a little pricey. You also will feel like you might die because you have to park in a dark alley, but somehow it's all good. Everytime I take a girl there, at first they are like- "Do you know where you are going?" but afterwards they want to go back again. They have great seafood. I go for the seafood platter, but I'm a glutton.

Now, since you are going to the game, you will probably want to go somewhere quick. You can eat at the ballpark, but of course it is pricey and it's not worth what they are charging. Unless you want to pay 12 bucks to give yourself gas for some reason. Traffic is probably going to be bad, so I recommend going at least an hour and a half if you want to watch the first pitch. There are some restaurants around Trustmark Park, mainly (all) chains ranging from Cracker Barrel to Wendy's. I would probably just do that if I were you.

Also- the Mississippi Sports HOF and Museum is pretty good to. It's right across the street from LeFleur's Bluff State Park and also, the Agriculture Museum is pretty good. Your girlfriend would probably like the Fondren District. There are a lot of little shops and things like that there. Parking sucks, though.

it showed two people holding hands over a table..."bob and marcia told us to come here...."

I think it's right off 55, but could be wrong.

Had the soft shell crab BLT last week and the gf had the oyster po boy. Both are fantastic.

It'll be tuesday so their fried chicken lunch special is pretty delicious, as is their Grilled Redfish Sandwich.

the food is not so great but you will score some points. Alternatively, take her to Amerigo for lunch - you can't go wrong with that.

I'd also recommend Julep in Highland Village (they are known for their fried chicken). The girlfriend could go shopping afterwards...
