Hoggard @ Rose
Laney @ WF
CG @ NH

Hoggard travels to Greenville to take on the explosive Rose team. Hoggard played it's best game of the season last week and will need another great performance to pull the upset. Rose and Hoggard have 1 common opp which is Laney. Rose lost to 14-13 and Hoggard won 13-0.
Laney travels to N. Raleigh to take on WF. This game may be over in about an hour as both team love to run the ball. WF runs it 38 times a game and throws it 7. Laney runs it 42 times a game and throws it 6. Laney has a strong run defense but they don't have much depth and I don't know if they can play with a big WF for 48 mins.
NH hosts a strong CG team. These teams are very similar in style and like to spread things out and let it fly. NH has plenty of playoff experience and look for another deep run. Where the Laney game will be quick, this game may take 4 hours.

A couple of QB's grew up Friday night. The future at that position for New Hanover and Hoggard look very good ... Having solid receivers doesn't hurt either.
Laney (I think) has the most talent overall in the conference and seems like it's all coming together, but a very tough match up this Friday

Do not hear much about Laney in football, is this year just a good year for them or are they good each year?

Depends on who you ask...IMHO, they just need to gain some confidence because they have the best defense in the conference. The QB, a sophomore, has made progress but he needs to believe in himself to show more leadership because he has the talent. I'm not saying they have a championship caliber team but could make a nice run.

WF defense has a shut down type defense when it comes to running. Some teams have thrown on them but their rush def is lock down. Laney will have their hands full for sure.

Hoggard- This is a pick em game but I think Hoggard brings their A game again and have enough to win. If their effort is anything less, I think Rose will outscore them. As much as Hoggards def has struggled this year they have gotten much better and I think they get some turnover and a few stops. The offense has to click and score TD's and control the clock.
NH will face a team that is very similar. I think CG will win in a shootout, but NH could easily win this game. CG scd has been very weak and they have given up points to avg-poor teams. CG lost to Hillside by 6 and their next toughest game was DHC or SD. NH will need to jump on them quick and play sharp.
Laney has the toughest match up this week playing at WF team that has a tremendous run defense. Unfortunately for Laney, they don't have much of a passing game. They line up and run right at you. As does WF. I think WF will have more size, more athletes, and more depth and more experience. If Laney is to have a chance their defense will have to hold WF and cause some turnovers and mistakes. I don't see it, WF will wear them down and pull away.

Hoggard
continues it's run thru the playoffs with an impressive win @ Rose. Rose has a tremendous offense but one of the weakest defenses I have seen this late into the playoffs. The Rose defense looks as though they have the parts but could not stop Hoggard. Hoggard will now travel to Pate to take on the favorite in the East and will be big underdogs as they were week1 of the playoffs.
Laney almost pulled off the biggest upset of this years playoffs. They played a great game and lead the powerful Cougars for most of the game before giving up the lead in the 4th.This Laney team underachieved in conference play and overachieved in the playoffs.
NH season came to a halt as they were hammered by CG. I have stated all season that this NH was good but not as good as they have been the last few seasons. They were young and smaller and didn't have as many play makers as they normally do. They had a good JV team and they will be better next season.
