As would I. Seems there's more concern over who the guest picker will be than the game. I don't care who we use. Hell, I say we use horatio Webster, if it helps us with Malik newman (half an *)
There was more than a little luck in that homerun though. Katy perry just happened to be in memphis. Kinda like Wes rea hitting a double and the of'er falling down and allowing Wes to stretch it to an in the parker
Brantley Gilbert would be the worst
Aren't they supposed to have some sort of tie to the school? I do not want The Weeks but I get it because they are from MS.
And Will Ferrell would be cool because of the cowbell deal. But not some random *** country singer just because he is playing near Starkville.

Her manager is an Ole Miss grad, at least according to some girl who attempted to explain why Katy Perry was on my television screen.

Brantley Gilbert has absolutely no ties to MSU. Surely there is at least one celebrity who has one small tie to Mississippi who could be the guest picker. If they put someone up there with no ties to Mississippi, they could do a lot better than some flash in the pan country singer. That's just stupid.

Guess if they were simply trying to look completely inane, they succeeded. Again, their words ... "Singer Katy Perry, attending her first college game, served as the guest picker on College GameDay Saturday, and her segment was easily the most absurd thing on ESPN this week.

How many articles have you seen for any other guest picker on Gameday? Can you even name a guest picker from a previous show? There were also several articles saying how great the segment was. Regardless, it was all over the internet which just generated more publicity for Gameday in Oxford. Getting some random country singer would be a huge buzzkill and wouldn't generate any pub at all.
