Hell of a comeback. Congrats to the team; good call to have the ball inbounded to Eli instead of Meechie at the end.
Eli Ellis is going to be the leader of this team.

We had a lid on the basket (that’s a quote from Bob Fulton back when Roche and Owens were here; it happens) and they were making ridiculous shots. That’s basketball; not every team is going to go out and be the 1970 UCLA Bruins every game.Well, played like poo but won. Chalk it up and move on.
I know you are disappointed we won but have a good nightWe might lose by 10+
You really changed your attitudeLooking like a W. Nice comeback
You probably went to bed pissed off that we won!We are getting beat by a awful team who replaced 12 players!
Maybe you'll learn form your awful post.Im definitely happy they are fighting, maybe they can learn from playing awful
I'm with ya! This group is painful. They beg for losses. You really changed your attitude
Woe is me...Why would anyone expect SC to be good in a men’s sport?
So long as it’s early season kinks, it’s all goodWe had a lid on the basket (that’s a quote from Bob Fulton back when Roche and Owens were here; it happens) and they were making ridiculous shots. That’s basketball; not every team is going to go out and be the 1970 UCLA Bruins every game.
The title is par for the course with the majority of this group.I’m concerned about our inside game and our big guys, said this after our first game too; not a whole lot of fire there. Turnovers hurt us too, same as first game; they got 25 points off of our turnovers. The stripes had a deer in headlights look in the first half, afraid TO call, afraid NOT to call; you could see they were chummy with gramps coaching SMiss and the foul disparity was hurting us in the first half. Finally evened out in the second half; for the free throw percentage critics we were 81% in free throws.
Social media tends to dump on guys when they’re not getting their feel good dopamine boost from a game’s outcome, really all they care about, and they dump on our guys AND the other guys. That team we played last night WANTED it, wanted it badly, were fighting hard to get it, had two guys making consistent highlight reel shots, and were getting a little help also. The title of this thread is ridiculous.
LOL... I swear the fans on this forum don't look at anything with actual context and thought. This team is 98% brand new... this team has really only been fully together a few months.... there are upgrades across the board. The only issue with this group is the lack of inside presence and a defense that will need to get better. Relax... Paris is doing what he does.Tonight.
Look slower and less athletic than Southern Miss.
Don't have a lot of confidence in Paris.
I don't beg for losses. I want to win every game in every sport. Read my posts. I'm happy when we win in football and pissed when we lose. So I spoke too soon. Every poster on this board has probably been guilty of it at some point. I have every right to be frustrated with state of our men's major port programs as a whole. What's more annoying is people that claim "I'm a better fan than you".I'm with ya! This group is painful. They beg for losses.
You can thank the lazy administrationThe title is par for the course with the majority of this group.
No one wants to be a better fan my friend; just want to be fans, and be among fans, without wading through an Ann Landers column discussing feelings and he did me wrongs to do so. I think that’s what you guys call garnet colored glasses, which I’m dimn glad I have; pretty much a necessity with our program.I don't beg for losses. I want to win every game in every sport. Essandoko is a statue. Butler is more athletic and mobile.I’m concerned about our inside game and our big guys, said this after our first game too; not a whole lot of fire there. I actually have a decent feeling on the basketball season. Yes, last night wasn't the prettiest game, but I think So Miss will end up being a top team in their conference.
Right…. The good fans will post about losing the game and how terrible we are before the game is over. The good fans will scream fire a coach the first time the offense goes three and out. The good fans, well, you should know. You are not allowed to be frustrated with any team. Otherwise the posters who whine about feelings will get their feelings hurt.
Oh wait, already happened.
You just need to learn to be a better fan. Up to their standards and all.
Exactly that. Simeon looks mentally slow to respond with basketball instincts. they controlled the boards early on. Lucky to squeak that one outWe have NO inside presence

Agreed. Rational vs irrational fan. Both fans but...Weird notion, "good" fan vs "bad" fans.
I figure we're all just fans. As widely varied as any fan base.

Nah, disagree. Assimean I assume you’re referring to; he does what he’s expected to do in there, actually better than I was anticipating. The two seven footers are the ones that I worry about being of any real benefit.Exactly that. Simeon looks mentally slow to respond with basketball instincts. they controlled the boards early on. Butler seems to be developing. Essandoko - not so much ... lacks athleticism.Nah, disagree. Assimean I assume you’re referring to; he does what he’s expected to do in there, actually better than I was anticipating. The two seven footers are the ones that I worry about being of any real benefit.
Luck? We were down six with a minute left in regulation; that’s not luck. LUCK is SMiss not getting called on either the hack or the trip at the end of regulation that would have sent Meechie to the line with two game winning free throws waiting on him. That’s ’luck.’
It remains to be seen, but right now we have no presence in the paint. Only scored like 14 points in the paint. That's not going to bode well in the SEC... and with nobody to rebound, if we don't make the 3-pointers, which are streaky at best, it could be a long conference season. So long as it’s early season kinks, it’s all good
I would say we didn't Sunday night. We have some size with guys like Kapic, Strong, Assemian, Polk, Knox, Essandoko, Stute and Butler, but I got the feeling we were not really trying to play big. Looking forward to the next game against Presbyterian. I remember they gave us fits last year.It remains to be seen, but right now we have no presence in the paint. True, we have two 7-footers, but they aren't dudes in there like the CMB kid we had last year who was 6'10.I would say we didn't Sunday night.
