Idaho State gets a borderline call on a sideline catch and a PI call in the endzone, then punches it in to take the lead back.

Idaho State probably has lots of D1 transfers. Portal has changed everything.

I thought I heard an announcer say UNLV was favored by 30. Close to being another So AL game.

I wish we would sign a home and home with UNLV. Supposedly SW will start nonstop flights from JAN to LV in late Oct.

I just watched 18 minutes of condensed game on YouTube. UNLV has two QB's. One dual threat geared toward passing and another mini Chris Relf. The mini Relf fumbled going into the end zone early on a would be scoring run. The next possession the UNLV kicker missed a short field goal so there was 10 points they should have easily had. UNLV was the better team and looked like an early MSU team scheme-wise under Mullen. They blitzed LBer's, CB's, and safety regularly. Their d line is small and they can't pass block very well yet. Run blocking was good for UNLV. The secondary may be suspect, but they are in the Mountain West, so Mullen may be OK. I'm positive they will get better, but you better believe Mullen plays down to his competition by practice coaching and today was the same. I felt like he should have played Mini Relf the whole game, because the other QB held the ball in the backfield too long. Oh, and he has a speedy rb that is hard to bring down as usual.

I dont long for coaches that were looking for greener pastures every year until they finally found a new school where they eventually got fired.

Who could blame him. You let the sec officials use their bias toward bama to give him no shot at a sec championship game appearance while he was at State.
He accomplished that at Florida. They made a mistake too, obviously.
But now things have changed. No more sec west. No more sec east. Heck we don’t even have to play Alabama and now look at us.

Its probably worth a quick reminder to everyone that UNLV went 11-3 last year, and would have been in the CFP had they beaten Boise State in the MWC title game. Their only losses were 2x to Boise State, and a 3-point OT loss to Syracuse.

Them skating by a horrid FCS program in Week 1 is a pretty big regression from where they ended last season. But I guess it’s going to take at least a full decade if not longer for the Mullen obsession to subside for many folks.

Barry Odom let go by Missouri. First gig back at head coach was at unlv. 2 years and the results were amazing. Then he took the job at Purdue. Mullen will use the same gameplan.

I hope he does well there as well, but what are those reasons he is Las Vegas?

I'd not mind him coming back. Maybe by now he's over his need to coach at the most popular university in the country.

Another quick reminder , Unlv lost 10 starters off their 24 defense, , lost a 1,000 yard wr and lost a qb that ran for a 1,000 and passed for 2,000. This is nowhere close to the same team.

And they lost that entire team and they have no NIL, as it fell apart and they couldn't pay players.
