To run something like that you'll someone who is a real a-hole and doesn't care what anyone thinks, he's going to make the best decision for the game. There's one man for the job.

If the NCAA will appeal many of these decisions handing down by lower courts, they could get a grip on it. It needs to grow ball and do what it was set up to do.

SEC alone makes over $1B and so does the Big 10. It is much more than $1.2B Mikey.

Instead of an a-hole who would make hard decisions for the good of the sport, I think we need someone who hates statistics, doesn't care what other people think, and makes decisions based purely on their personal preferences and nostalgia.

I find it hysterical that someone making $7mil to coach football is complaining about the system. Seems like it’s working pretty well for him.

Even someone at a resource rich school like aTm is worrying about cooking the golden goose. Makes you wonder how healthy this sport is (I get all the ratings, yada, yada)....it's definitely very top heavy and the leadership vacuum is enormous.

Is it obvious, though? College sports in general needs a whole new business model. If there was a single football commissioner, what could he accomplish within the current legal framework? He could come down hard on tampering but even that would be risky.

We need a team of really forward thinkers who can restructure the whole thing into something workable. Its not as easy as one guy putting his foot down.

Would it be better if football (the real source of all the upheaval) was like European football and the professional teams had academies all the way down to grade school where players were developed?
