Just talked about the Fenwick / PN situation for about five minutes. Golic's take was living with what the ref calls on the field. Coming back to talk more about it after the commercial break.
The IHSA reversed a scoring error in the Edwardsville sectional in 20082008 wrestling? I thought it was the '95 AA debacle?
This would have reached National coverage for a positive reason had Plainfield North done the right and simple process. Turning over the "victory" to the rightfull owner. Now all three teams face the dirt and mess of the situation. Of course the IHSA allowed this as well and are the primary culprit.

What'd Bowen say? I'm sure he gave a solid in between answer considering he's a coach.Bowen discussed also on Mully and Hanley this morning and it was covered on Good Morning America
In essence just no winnersWhat'd Bowen say? I'm sure he gave a solid in between answer considering he's a coach.
To say, woulda, coulda, shoula is silly
Just spent another five minutes on it and are apparently getting a ton of tweets on it. This time both M&M agree that turning it over would be the "right" thing to do, BUT that it would open up a pandora's box going forward and therefore they feel the judge will simply take the position that the rules are the rules of the IHSA and that everyone needs to abide by them whether they are good rules or not. 60 Minutes to have a session on it next....
Stop just stop! This isn't Plainfields job to "do the right thing." Furthermore even if they chose to do so, no way in this planet or any other would the IHSA allow for it.
This isn't a Plainfield issue. Stop trying to make it one.
The fact is that these are the clear-cut rules as documented in the NFHS Football Rules Book. This is a rule book adopted by more than 17,000 high schools nationwide that are members of the NFHS.

So if someone drops a wallet with hundreds of dollars right in front of you its okay to keep it even though you know clearly its not yours and whose it is? Ever heard of sportsmanship??? Hasn't the IHSA preached it for years in their commercials???
No, which is why if I'm PN I offer cause it makes them look good and makes the IHSA look even worse when they wont allow itDo you really really think the IHSA would allow them to?

I ask this because why did they agree to OT?, why was there no protest at the end of regulation?, why did the send the players out on the field for OT?
Coaches at Fenwick could have pulled their players and protested OT on the spot and had the ref call the IHSA to rule.
Who exactly would you call at the IHSA at 10PM?
I'll preface this with I have no horse in the PH vs Fenwick game or outcome but has anyone thought of this before:
Is it likely possible that Fenwick had no idea of the rules or issue with the rules until after the game had ended in OT?
I ask this because why did they agree to OT?, why was there no protest at the end of regulation?, why did the send the players out on the field for OT?
Coaches at Fenwick could have pulled their players and protested OT on the spot and had the ref call the IHSA to rule. Having let it go to OT and complete the entire OT session leads me to believe Fenwick wasn't aware of the rules as most of us likely aren't as well.
*Instead of throwing the ball in the air Fenwick could have easily run the clock out or taken a safety.
You can't take a knee in the Arena League, so the safest thing to do was have the quarterback drop back and throw the ball deep without any duress on him so it's not intentional grounding," Nudo said Sunday.
So when I walked off the field I thought it was a rule I didn't know about. I left thinking I blew the game for the kids."
