Does the Republican party not own majorities in both the senate and house, the executive and judicial branches as well? They should be able to pass anything they want
On paper yes. In reality with rinos beholden to the uniparty and arcane senate rules along the good Ole Boys becoming buddies it's a lot harder than it looks.

Then it sounds like the President who touts himself as an amazing deal maker has done a poor job managing his own caucus.

It amazes me so many people forget the filibuster in the Senate. If republicans could pass anything they want, the government would not be shut down, again

There are approximately 62 homicides in the US each day. Almost all of them committed by citizens. Why is there no outrage over those killings?

Why, when the federal government, who is supposed to protect its citizens, instead murders them, do you, not only go beyond ignoring these murders, but actively defend them?

Save your thoughts. And your prayers. No one's buying what you're selling.

Moogster, do you mean the two idiots that resisted arrest and then one of them tried to run them over with avehicle and the other on who had a gun with 2 clips?
Are those the ones you are talking about?

LOL. Trump has bombed seven different countries (Somalia, Nigeria, Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen) since taking office in January 2025. And he's just getting warmed up. No wonder that Venezuelan gal gave him the Nobel Peace Prize.
Your best post ever. Glad to see you are finally coming over to the American side. MAGA.

Neither one resisted arrest, and we'll talk about you guys abandoning the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment after we establish why you are fine with the federal government murdering its citizens.

Since you're the man-with-whataboutism-Tourette's, if this was a Democrat administration, and it happened to MAGAts, you guys would have been lining the streets in open carry protests chanting "2nd Amendment" "Commies!" and "Don't Tread on Me!" and riling people up for the civil war you nuts are aching for, if you don't get your way. In other words, you guys have no integrity. No regard for the Constitution, or your fellow citizen. You want power ... that's it.

Can you find us a poll so we can see the percentages of Americans who want or don't want draft? TIA.
We are all in favor of you being drafted and put on the frontlines since you voted for this. The dumbest people should go first so we thank you for your martyrdom.

Except there are specific types of legislation that is exempt from the cloture rule. Regardless, even if the law they want to pass isn't exempt, all the Rs need to do is win over 9 dems. That's where compromise and working across the aisle comes in, but alas that doesn't seem to happen anymore.

What have democrats recently compromised on?

Republicans, or Trump specifically, compromised on abortion for example.

Recent bipartisan legislation in early 2026 includes the House-passed H.R. 7744 (Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026) in March, the Senate's October 2025 passage of the ROAD to Housing Act, and proposed updates to Supplemental Security Income. Other recent examples include the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (2022).

Other significant, recent bipartisan legislation includes the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (2022), which addressed gun safety, and the Fire Weather Development Act of 2023.

Why? This isn't about what Americans want ... this is about what the Second Reich may do, and hasn't ruled out doing.

Regardless, polls up to about a couple years ago showed about 20-27% support for a draft. And 55-61% opposed it (presumably the remainder were in the "no comment/not sure" bucket).

Rest assured, however, if your Fuhrer announced tomorrow that a draft was happening immediately, all the MAGAts who currently are against it, or unsure, would suddenly shift their vote to being pro-draft. Just like all the MAGAts who were against war, regime change and nation building (which was allegedly a primary tenet of the MAGAt movement) are now cheering on war, regime change and potential nation building.

I have faith the price of oil will be between. $50 to $60 a barrel by June 1

That’s my uneducated WAG but it’s a guess from having seen many oil shocks over 60 years

To add to my gut feeling Ii read Darwin’s books on Survival of the Fittess

Those who survive are not the smartest but the ones who adapt the best

The US will adapt the best

hey @baltimorened, they also have guidence kits for what i assume was a farvorite of yours... 2.75in (70mm) hydra rockets. Called APKWS (adv precision kill weapons system). Original verson was laser guided and needed you to maintain the spot on target. New version has additional passive IR sensor so that once it orients and picks up the spot it'll lock in on the target and not need it anymore, so that you can switch to designate a different target for the next rocket. Can be air launched (of course) or also ground launched.

I just read today that they are working on a prox fuze for it as an engagement soluton for low cost drones like Iran's / Russia's shaheed. Aerial platforms (like F15s or F18s ) flying CAP woudl be able to carry a ton in pods to engage drones cheaply without having to go to guns or use expensive sidewinders or AMRAAMS

edit: I have no experience with them, i first read about them during all the coverage of ukraine
If I remember correctly, you have at least served in the military. It doesn't matter if you have or haven't, I would just say you seem to know a lot more than others.

makes you yearn for the good old days when you had to be a pretty good shot to put those 2.75 rockets on target. I still remember...in trim, "pipper" on target, 30lbs tongue, select type fuze..pull the trigger, don't fly into the ground. Last one was really important, lots of cross checking instruments
You are also a fellow that knows what he's talking about.

Do you really need to see a poll to understand that a draft, particularly for this adventure) would be DEEPLY unpopular? C'mon now, Man-with-Whataboutism-Tourette's.
