There is currently no line on this game. My guess is Vegas wants to see if Armstrong will play or not. But when they do set the line, keep this in mind:

Nebraska is 33-5 all time, in home Night Games.
Nebraska has never lost a home night game to an unranked team.
Nebraska has only lost 1 home night game to a team ranked outside the top 7:

Washington in 1991- #1
Texas in 2002 - #7
USC in 2007- #1
Mizzou in 2008- #3
Va Tech in 2008- #19

Nebraska has never lost a home night game in November.
Nebraska is 19-1 all time, in conference games played at home, under the lights.

Memorial Stadium is a special place on Saturday nights, under the lights. Some might say this team has a fragile psyche after the Ohio State game. Keep in mind, Nebraska lost AT Purdue last year and then came back and beat the eventual Big Ten Champs, Michigan State, at home under the lights. That place was magical that night. If that same game is played at 11 am, Michigan State wins easily.

Handicappers add 3 to 5 points at home. I will argue Memorial Stadium, under the lights, is worth 10 to 14 points.

Minnesota will not beat Nebraska on Saturday night.

Massey ratings has us at 28-24 vs Minnesota. So, -6 sounds about right. If Tommy is a go and fully healthy I feel pretty comfortable with saying this is a game we should win and cover.

But...this doesn't take into account the 'Fyfe' factor. If Tommie doesn't play, I can't imagine us being favored.

Which means you would need to be functionally special to not bet Nebraska as a home underdog, in primetime.

If Armstrong can't play what about Bush? He's the closest thing to replacing Armstrong

I don't trust Minnesota at all. I really don't get what people see in them. I saw somebody say they have been improving recently. My question is-what game did they show improvement in? Was it this past week against Purdue? They ended up beating Purdue by the same number of points as we did, but Purdue was in the game longer than they were against us. It was a 6 point game until late in the 4th quarter until Minnesota scored a TD with less than 2 minutes left to seal it. Was it 3 weeks ago against Rutgers where they had to kick a FG with 10 seconds left to win against the worst team in the B1G? They did have a 23 point win over Illinois on the road in between, but Minnesota made that game look like more of an easy win than it was with 19 points in the 4th quarter. I really don't know what people are seeing in this team that makes them such a feared opponent. They shouldn't be seen as an easy win, but neither should they be feared like some people seem to be by them. Playing us on the road at night will easily be their toughest game yet.

I'd say at PSU was the toughest so far. My guess is Nebraska will be a very close second with the game being at night possibly first. Otherwise, I'd be the first to say, we don't strike fear into any opponent. What gives me hope as a Gopher fan is that this team, as sloppy as it has played, is resilient. After a first half filled with miscues, the defense held Purdue to three points in the second half. Nebraska at Nebraska will be a huge challenge. On paper Nebraska has more talent accross the board. Though Nebraska has the edge, especially if T. Armstrong plays, I think this Gophers team has a punchers chance.

Line will be -7 to 9 depending upon QB situation with o\u at about 45 let's see what I know!

After getting knocked out three days ago, it seems inconceivable that Tommy will play Saturday -- and without him, we probably lose.

I'm thinking that if RF gets into trouble by the 2nd quarter we'll see Darlington.

Playing at Nebraska, under the lights, will make this Minnesota's toughest game of the season. Its a different animal. Weird things happen.

Maybe. I was just saying to this point PSU at PSU was our toughest with over 105000 fans. Once you get over 90,000(Nebraska) they are about the same. Well, save the BigHouse. I was there in 97' and it wasn't nearly as loud as the Shoe was.

I think the biggest challenge will be the talent gap(real? perceived?). Will the Gophers coaching staff have a plan to deal with that gap vs Nebraska? I am hopeful the Gopher team won't crap the bed at Nebraska. The PSU experience gives me hope that they won't. Actually winning the game?....

BTW Sam Foltz and our former punter Peter Mortell were pretty close friends IIRC. We Gopher fans hope we pay tribute/ Honor the late Mr. Foltz in some way.
