Well, the kicker we've got coming in from Fort Payne has got a big leg. Announcers have been raving about him.

Also Caleb Triplett, LB from D'iberville has been very active.

Crosby and Hill have been together in the backfield a lot. I continue to think Crosby looks like the better prospect. Hill just doesn't look like he has much wiggle and he's not big enough to just be a bruiser in the SEC. Absolutely could be wrong.

They also have better players. And it’s getting worse. MS doesn’t let MAIS players play in the game. Wasn’t a big deal 20 years ago. It’s a big deal now.
You have to get Lance Pogue and his cronies out of there as well.

40-10 final. 6 in a row for Bama.

Pretty vanilla offense for MS and way too many penalties.

Alabama had a great WR, dominant D Line and two really good QBs.

Alabama has double the population of Mississippi. MAIS wouldn’t make much difference.

Mississippi MVP was Triplett. Said he was a State commit, but offer got pulled after an injury during the season. Just got added to this game and showed out. Said he's probably going Juco.

Mistake on our part??

True. But if would be nice to have 2 of our top 3 players. But yeah. Twice the population, better coaching, better player development. Mississippi high school football is a lot worse than most people want to admit.
It would make some difference. Many of AL private schools play public ball.

Alabama players are always better coached in these games.
This year they picked Laurel coach to be the All-Star head coach. This year Laurel was 6-7. Last year they pick Hattiesburg head coach. They lost the championship game.
-2023 they picked the Clinton coach to be the head coach of this team. Clinton’s record that year was 1-9.
-In 2022 they picked Oxford coach. That year Oxford record was 5-5.
-In 2021 they picked South Jones coach Todd Breland. That year south jones record was 3-7.

The problem is that we don’t pick winners, we don’t pick THE best. Mississippi’s selection process is just political, we’re not serious about winning. I think the last time we picked a guy who had just won a State championship same year was Mancuso in 2017. Mississippi won that game 42-7.

You’re not wrong. Crosby transitions better. I’ve been thinking the whole time Hill should play linebacker.

3 SEC players wouod make a difference.

Plus- Their overall selection process is best suited to get the best, including coaches. They leave room for current success ect for the player and coach selections

Why do we agree to play this game?

How does it benefit Mississppi football one iota?

The Alabama advantage is clear and the wins they rack up only enhance their brand.

The Mississippi High School All Star game (Bernard BlackwellClassic) game was a huge deal until this MS AL abomination started in 1988.

In the past 6 years, only 1 time have we picked a head coach for this team who had a winning record at his school that same year.
That alone should tell you that we are not serious about winning this game.

I like Crosby better due to his speed but to say Hill doesnt have the size...
He's 220-225 now & could potentially play at 235-240 in college. I'm not sure how much bigger you want your rb. You are right he is more of a straight ahead runner, but he does have some vision. I'm good with that as we need a N & S runner.

I think they'll compliment each other well.

You know, I almost revised that. He'll be a big running back, even for college, once he puts on even more muscle in an SEC weight program.

I guess he just doesn't look like a great running back to me. I just haven't seen the moves you typically see out of a high level college runner.

I tend to agree with a commenter above. He might be better served with a move to linebacker where his skill set may fit more.

Like I said. I may be completely wrong in my assessment.

You’re not alone in thinking this. I can see him as an inside LB better than as a RB in college. But what do I know?

I could see him at 240. His brother is nearly 250. I dont know that he's got the hips to play LB at this level. I haven't seen him enough there though.

He's a straight ahead runner, with good vision, decent speed, punishes defenders and will not dance. I welcome that & like I said, think he & Crosby will compliment each other.

He reminds me a bit of Blount
