At graduation and they direct everyone to go out the front of the Hump. Handicapped parking is on the opposite side, they won't let you walk back through the Hump to it. No carts picking up people to take them to those spots. No way to turn to get to the opposite side of the Hump because they block roads Just completely dang **** effort!

Yeah…..they could actually get in trouble for that if someone wanted to put the effort into pursuing it

Unfortunately this dovetails nicely into the complaints we have had about our athletic administration. You have a bunch of people who have no clue what they are doing
It's the campus police I was told. In fact, after I blew up a guy I got the name to call about it and will be Monday. I had two with me and they had to walk all the way around the Hump. I've never been more pissed off about something on campus.

Not excusing anything, but they have had heightened security measures in place due to possible political protests. Also probably some leftover covid practices. Just guessing. I wasn't there.

You serious, Clark? I mean, if you are trolling it is too obvious and if you are being serious, bless your heart.
Yeah i'm serious. Its laughable at the amount of complaining some of you do.

Here's some info for you. Below is from the link.

No. The Standards require that accessible parking spaces be on the shortest accessible route to an accessible entrance, but they do not specify a maximum travel distance, nor do they require that parking be installed where none is planned (e.g., directly in front of an entrance).

Sigh. Yep. But if they lock the entrance to the doors closest to said parking lot they are no longer on the shortest accessible route. You can’t leave it open for them to get in and then lock it when they try to get out.

It is also very likely that on the side away from the handicap parking spaces that there are areas that are not wheelchair accessible, thus making it beyond difficult to move.

My daughter is in a wheelchair. I deal with crap like this every day. Rest assured it is indeed a big deal and needs to be dealt with. And even if this met ADA standards (it doesn’t), then I would still be annoyed at state being a**holes to disabled people.

This is really a hill you want to die on???

Lots of incompetence from top to bottom on campus.
And it’s getting worse every day.

If I have misinterpreted the intent of your comment, I am sorry and ask you to please forgive me.

ADA Guidelines are, by definition, designed for those who need help with activities that many able-bodied people, including you, seem to take for granted.

My wife was a true MSU Sports fan. Her favorite sport was baseball and, as a MSU graduate, she loved them all. She battled cancer for ten years until we lost her in 2023. For the last three years of her life I had to help her (which really means do it for her) with everything she did - including getting dressed. As season ticket holders, we had Handicapped Parking passes because after she lost the ability to walk I had to transport her everywhere (and I mean everywhere - even within our house) using wheelchairs and bodily pick her up to move her from wheelchair to chair to bed, etc. She did not choose to have a debilitating and disabling disease that eventually took her life.

For you to insult her disability and the disability of others who need help is stupid beyond measure. You apparently lead an arrogant and ignorant existence. I sincerely hope you never have to need help like she did.

One Last thing I would like to add:
I was surprised when I saw that 3dawgnight “liked” your comment since this was his mother and he is my son. I do love my son very much and I am proud of him every day - I just didn’t understand him “like”ing your insensitive and ignorant comment.

I’m not insulting people with disabilities. I have empathy for anyone in NEED.

My point of my post is that there are quite a few people on this board who whine about every single thing they can. Nothing is ever done their way or the right way in their opinion.

id bet dollars to donuts that the original poster either A doesn’t have all the correct info or B left some critical info out or C which is part of A some low level dumb @$$ made a mistake

So is this genespage now?

ban people bc they disagree?

You’ve been a bit more blatant the past month.

I’ve been thinking you wanted to get banned sooner or later so you can take a few months off, create your new PDH username variant, and come back to sell your extra seats to football games in August 2025.

You realize they designated a parking lot for just handicapped parking right? Didn't think so. Guess what, the normal accessible handicapped parking in front wasn't available for use. You're an idiot. They wouldn't even let people utilize the restrooms at the Hump if they went to take pictures up front (as directed). All their kiosks of things for sale were up front too, so people went there for that as well. They denied access to the restrooms. Even graduates couldn't access them. They had a line of security blocking everything. It was one giant cluster 17!
On a special day for kids and families, it became a circus.

Was it possible to leave them at a location and pick them up? Not trying to be an ***. Just curious.

After having “cooled down” regarding the comments posted by paindonthurt17 earlier in this thread, I have come to realize that this public forum is not the place for me to air disagreements with my son, 3dawgnight, and for that I apologize to him. I was wrong to do it here and I shouldn’t have. I will try to have a cooler head and not do this again in the future. I guess I was “triggered” by the stupid comment made by paindonthurt17 and how his comment applied to my personal situation and to the loss of my wife after the long suffering and disability she endured. This is not an excuse for my mistake; just a reason.

I'm not trolling so 17 off.

This board complains non stop. I'm going to call them out when they do.
You mean like you're doing right now.

I have to use handicapped parking, and I can tell you that Missis State is not the only place with crazy rules for handicapped parking. I quit complaining about this a long time ago. Sorry if we disturbed you.

Roads were blocked off and we couldn't. They had carts at the parking lot but they weren't allowed to leave that parking lot to pick up people on the other side. Basically, MSU told everyone to get the 17 out of the Hump and then had no plan. They forgot about the handicapped people and didn't care about anyone. It was all about rushing us out of the Hump. I've never been to an event on campus where the people were treated so poorly.
