Missouri Game questions

Did anyone watch their game last week? I missed it. They had 284 yards offense, but the freshman QB was 7/22 for 77 yards. 74 of those were on 3 plays to 1 WR. They had 2 RB's that had just over 100 yards each and averaged 6.4 and 8.4 ypc. Are the running backs really that good or did they have big chunk plays? Texas A&M has a killer defense and it looks like they ran all over them on paper. A&M put up almost 500 yards offense and 6.8 ypp with a mobile QB. I'd like to think we could beat the school too far up North to be in the SEC (TSTFUN2BSEC) if we can just stop the run. Shirley this is our week?

I watched the first half, then the first few plays of the 2nd half until it wasn't a game. I don't know if the QB completed a pass beyond the LOS in the 1st. He also took some awful backbreaking sacks, especially the one at the end of the half. They had the ball trying to get to FG range and he was sacked/fumbled and returned to the 1 yard line. Completely changed the game bc A&M scored to end the half, then again to start the 2nd and they were playing from behind them. Not their game plan at all. I would think they will try and ground and pound us. Stay in 2nd/3rd and short and limit the times he has to throw deep.

ETA: yeah the running backs/run game is pretty good and will probably look amazing against us

I doubt we beat them. They are pretty good. Judging them by how they did against A&M isn't a great way to tell.

They are really good at the LOS. On both sides. That's a problem for us. It's a bad matchup.

I watched most of it. Their backs are really good but A&M got up big and called off the dogs. They had a 45 yard TD run in what was basically garbage time. Their young QB was really struggling, especially when A&M was able to get pressure. Mizzou had a few long drives that either resulted in no points or they had to settle for a FG. Feels like bend but don’t break will be importanf for us. They have run the ball on almost everyone, but since the Pribula injury they are struggling to get touchdowns.

Defensively they are good but A&M (granted, better offensively than us) was able to move the ball well especially in the second half. It was a close game until right before half and A&M forced a fumble on a strip sack that put them very much in control.

I watched the full game vs Alabama. Missouri looked very physical in that game. However Bama held them to under 200 yards rushing.

Auburn held Mo under 100 yards rushing. Vandy held them under 200. However they rushed for 285 on USCe

With all that said, based on State defensive performance this weekend, UGa ran 3-5 yards before we even touched them. I'm not expecting much this weekend.

They can run the ball. We have proven we can’t stop that even when we load the box (Arizona State). They have a great defense with one of the top run defenses in the country. Home night game for them. Our only hope is to add another runner into the mix (Kamario Taylor) to extend passing opportunities and make plays in the run game. Our usual stuff with Shapen running things will not work against this defense
