Louisville has a great deal to do with us. As in recruiting against them. Don't be so short sighted.
That's not the reason fans obsess over them and you know it . besides our staff has won plenty of recruiting battles against UL despite the different trajectories , so no need to dedicate so much energy to what they do when we don't play . Feel free to fret over UL all the time as every fan won't have the same experience .

It depends on where you live , people in southern ky care more about Tennessee than UL . That's the people they interact with on a daily basis . Louisville is not a factor for me unless we play them , I don't watch their games or keep up with their teams . I make fun of their corrupt school because it is always in the news . I don't deal with UL fans very often , that's the difference . You need to open your mind and realize that your reality is not the only one in existence or the only one that matters .

The irony of these statements is rich.
Hence I said feel free to fret over Louisville as every fan won't have the same experience , not that I expected you to grasp any of that . Try putting all of the sentences together next time or be short sighted and cherry pick one line out of context .

 [roll] You are barking up the wrong tree. I don't even live near Louisville nor do I have any interaction with them. My gawd you're a total clown. Someone needs a Snickers.
Yet you seem adamant that UL matters so much , whether your being truthful about where you live we know that UL lives in your head . Keep being jealous of them , just don't expect everybody to focus on them as you do .

It is the typical attitude of someone who has spent long, painful stretches in prison. I see it everyday in my line of work. :pimp:
You look like somebody that got molested by a UL fan , only way to explain the hatred . Get counseling , it's unhealthy.

Line of work gives detailed knowledge of prison life , has no contact with Louisville fans . Yea that's believable , tell more lies

I don't know any UL fans, little girl. As I stated, I don't live near Louisville but I am cognizant (have someone google the definition for you sweetie) of their success and how it affects UK. [smoke]

yeah, Ohio State fan never thinks of Michgan. team sports are an athletic expression of competition. you can't have a team sport w/o competitors; w/o rivalry. to ignore your competitors is to not compete. let's just turn the football team into one giant Pilates class. maybe we did and forgot to alert the media.

Kansas state thing got to ya , don't take it personal .
Actually I got myself until you helped me with your "Kansas St isn't a basketball school" comment. You reminded me that there is a "basketball school" much closer to home that apparently has overcome that image: Louisville. They may be playing for the MNC--and just a few years ago Charlie Strong was lamenting to the local media that basketball was getting too much press.

To your point with Kansas St, are you now throwing down the gauntlet and putting the ceiling on football success based on basketball's popularity. Please explain that point.

In the meantime, are you saying the Big 8/12 is historically weak which allowed KSU to thrive? Better not tell:
Texas, TCU, TAMU, OU, Nebraska that. As a matter of fact, look up Gary Osborne.

No matter what he does, naive, ignorant Mitch will find a way to screw things up.

Brooks was making real progress but Mitch wouldn't listen to him and provide the resources he needed. Mitch has the judgement and timing of a 3 year old. No doubt he's on his knees seeking direction from his bronze age war god while upholding his hypocritical, self-righteous idea of morality while drawing an inflated, undeserved paycheck.

With this superstitious incompetent in charge, nothing is going to improve without some divine intervention. And that ain't happening.

He said BBall is a minor sport and he would trade all of our basketball history to have at least a mediocre football team every year. That is disdain.
College Bball is second to college football nationwide. In comparison, college bball does not rate very high when it comes to "favored" sports. Look up any of the more notable polls on the subject. I enjoy bball when the games start counting (in March) and pull for Ky as much as anyone else on this board.
Still, Football is the premier college sport and needs to be treated as such IF Ky hopes to field a winner. IMO, there's no reason we can't be elite in both. However, I've been around many people, especially during my years in E Ky, that did not want Football to be successful.....as if it would detract from bball.

Yes, football is the favorite sport nationally. No, men's basketball, particularly at UK, isn't even close to a minor sport. No, if you don't enjoy BBall until March, you don't even register on the basketball fan meter. Yes, we can be great in both. I'm from SE Ky. and to think anyone wanted football to struggle is foreign to myself and everyone I know. No, I'm not young, I'm 52.

I ran into a guy here in Lexington who admitted he got ticked when they talked football on the radio because it cut into basketball talk. Of course later this guy turned out to be a total pri-- who apparently couldn't be trusted with anyone's money. Call it whatever you want but every person I've ever met who was a front runner in sports turned out to be a turd in real life.

When March comes I'm as big a fan as anyone else and pull for my above all others. Reg season bball is not of interest to me. Ii have nothing against my bball. It's the fans that belittle or minimize football I have a problem with .

Don't we play Louisville every year? So their success has a direct effect on our problems.

You have no idea what my emotional state is, but one should always learn from past events. We warned Mitch and his sycophants that not hiring Petrino would come back to bite us, and it has and it will continue to.

Of course he would. That UofL job has so many more advantages than the UK job. It's such a peach I don't know how anyone could turn it down. They play in a better conference, have a bigger fanbase, have better facilities, have a better recruiting base, have more tradition. All of the biggies. He probably would've left two weeks into the season to take that juggernaut of a job if it came open. Same with Brohm. He'd probably leave UK after an hour as coach to go lead that vaunted UofL program into battle. That's one of the two or three best jobs in the nation. Those UofL guys are loyal to that school, so much so that they'd make a lateral move from an SEC school to an ACC school with zero advantages simply because they're "UofL" guys. Someone told me they sleep with a UofL pillow under their head every night and would leave a job with Alabama if the UofL job came open.

Keep fighting the good fight.

Sec play is awful. I can't even watch SEC basketball.

As for the coach I think Calipari is actually leading the pattern for what college basketball is evolving into--and that is a springboard to the pros. right wrong or indifferent, you'll see more of this. Our bball can go on autopilot. One of the few self supporting basketball PBUs in the country.

As for football, UK needs to put all its eggs into it now, and reap the benefits of it.

I'm looking forward to that big Tuesday night showdown in January against the perennial power known as the Auburn Basketball Tigers..or the Wednesday night shootout in February against the fighting Georgia Basketball Bulldogs. Should be a barn burner
