How is Mitchell struggling? 5 hits. They'd only have 1 run if Collins wasn't terrible behind the plate.

He certainly wasn't sharp through 5. I don't know how much you can blame Collins since the balls were scored as wild pitches and not passed balls. I didn't see the pitches but one hit the plate.

State has 6 hits, so I don't know how indicative the hit count is.

Every ball in the dirt gets scored as a wild pitch, but those are plays a catcher needs to make. Collins has one or two of those a weekend, he just had two in back-to-back innings today to bring it to light.

He was struggling when I posted

In the 4th. His control was all over the place. He was walking folks. Giving up hits. He had already allowed 2 runs. He had made an error. He really was struggling. He got it together and started hitting his spots. I bet you both him and Cohen would say it was a struggle too. Guy threw 150 pitches too. He has thrown a complete game this year where he threw 80 something pitches. Hell yes he was struggling.

Those pitches are called to be thrown in the dirt. Collins knows where they are going, the Pitcher knows where he is throwing it, they need to be blocked.

I agree, for the most part, if it's in the dirt. If it hits the plate, then it's a ****** pitch. I believe that both happened in the same inning.
