I don't follow this closely at all. Who is likely to get drafted from the 2025 team? Who do we not want to see go real high in hopes they come to campus? Will Hines get drafted?

We have 4 recruits in the top 100:
Jojo Parker
Jack Bauer
Landon Harmon
J Parker

Looks like Evan Siary is rated high as well.

I’m pretty ignorant of how the draft goes these days but I’d be surprised if he didn’t get drafted at all

I'm sure Bauer and the Parkers won't make it to campus
JoJo Parker and Harmon are gone. Bauer and Jacob Parker are 50/50 at best. Should have a decent chance to keep the rest of the signees and portal players. Current roster guys like Siary, Sullivan and Frei will just depend on whether or not a team wants to go after one of them later in the draft.

I think the guys you mention on the roster now will all benefit more from a year under this staff than they would in minor league ball. We'll see.

Jacob probably will go also. Hoping he falls, but I seriously doubt it. JoJo is a top 10 pick

Was about to post basically this. I believe JoJo is projected in the top 5-10 picks. Outside shot that Jacob makes it to campus.

Last I heard, Jacob Parker was like in the 140s as a prospect so that would be maybe middle part of the Top 10 rounds. Decent money but with NIL available I personally wouldn't give up my college experience over it to go ride minor league buses. But to each his own.

I have seen a couple of mock drafts today that had JoJo Parker 14-18 in the first round. There seems to be some disagreement about Bauer being in the first round & rumor is that he will demand first round $. I didn't notice Harmon in the first round, but he has to be 2nd or maybe 3rd round if not first.

It would be nice to get Stallman & Frei back for next year. We also need transfers Teel & Bevis to be on campus next spring.

Hines may get drafted high because he does not have any leverage, so a team could sign him cheap and save some $ for later rounds.

JoJo is a top 5-10 pick ---- he gone
Supposedly Bauer has a very, very firm figure he will sign for and will not budge....it will most likely take someone paying over slot to get him....I think there is a 50/50 chance he makes it to campus...

Harmon ---- I think its about 90% chance he goes pro....

I could see the twin brother Parker making it to campus, but who knows how it plays out with his brother being a top 10 pick.

I see Frei and Siary going Pro

Don't know about Stallman or Sullivan

We only have a shot at Bauer because he has a very high asking price. I get the impression Harmon is not that hepped up on going to college so he would probably take anything in the Top 10 rounds.

Absolutely agree. At least if you're going to ride one of those buses, you had better be like a Konnor Griffin or Kam Caminiti and have some heavy pocketchange to offset that misery lol

I’m in H’burg, but have no inside information. I do see a lot of the local media and social media stuff concerning the Parkers and it almost feels like they tell people off record that they are both going pro. It seems like a forgone conclusion among everyone that both will sign and I don’t think Jacob is saying anything to quell any of that.

Liam Doyle: We end Ole Miss's season last year with him on the mound. He transfers to Tennessee and becomes a top-5 pick. Chef's kiss.
Vitello is on the MLB.tv broadcast talking about him. He just took a shot at Ole Miss by saying how out of shape he was at Ole Miss, and that UT was able to turn him around with their strength program.

He looked like he was in better shape this season compared to last year.

I would go to college regardless of the draft. I would not have been ready for the competition I would have had to face.

I know a guy who went pro out of high school. Number 1 draft choice, signed for a million, out of baseball with a bum shoulder in two years.
never got past A ball. I don’t think he was ready for the pros at 18. His family was wise and banked his money.

When I listen to the guys who made it to the pros from State, college was a good thing for them. They look back at their time and say it was good for them. The pro ball is work. It’s hard to get to “the show”. It’s hard to stay there.

Explain please. I don't track this stuff like I used to.
So the gist of underslotting is just a team willing to sign and save money to a kid of "lesser" potential value at that pick. Most of the time they are doing this because their draft bonus pool isn't as stacked as say, Baltimore, who has the most out of any team this year.

So the 17 year old was willing to take less money I'm sure at that "1st overall draft slot" vs say Ethan Holliday or Kade Anderson(3rd and 4th picks). Washington will save money and spend it on someone that they feel like needs that extra $$$ boost later on. Another example of this is what San Francisco did to Dakota Jordan last year in round 4. They gave Dakota 2 million as his signing bonus, which typicallly "slots" at round 2.

They just play the shell game really with their bonus pool.

Thanks, but what does the slot actually mean? Is it just a guideline or are you guaranteed a certain amount of money for being picked in a particular position??
