I know Bauer can still get drafted and sign, but to put it in context, how many of the top 50 prospects (according to MLB.com) will not sign (whether drafted or not)? To be clear, I'm not asking about the top 50 picks. The top 50 prospects before the draft started.
He was predicted as high as 22. I'm guessing he wants to be playing college ball

Well, we pretty much know the roster for next year at this point and its a really good one. Jacob Parker is really the only player that is in question at this stage but hopefully he will come to school as well. All the other players and signees of ours that were drafted will almost for sure sign. I was very surprised we didn't have more signees and transfer portal commitments get drafted that we would have to sweat out. Hickson is the only portal player lost and only losing 2 HS signees for sure.
My guess is Jacob Parker is in the fold.
If he doesn’t sign, Bauer is draft eligible again in 2028. Three collegiate seasons.

2) I believe there was a max of 10 guys on any of the 83-85 rosters that were drafted in the 1st 20 rounds. Out of the 34 guys who make this roster I bet there will be more than 10.
Why would you spread it out over 4 years? If you’re comparing it to his college option, he’s only got 1 year of eligibility left. Dude was 2-7 at Rice last year, albeit with a semi-decent ERA. If he’s got a $407k offer, he’s absolutely gone. No way we are paying that in NIL for him.
Well we better have an entire lineup of .300/.400/.450 + players and should gorilla ball our way to 10+ runs in every game. And our pitching looks so good that we should have a team ERA under 3.

I'm excited, but I'm gonna take a wait and see stance. We likely just lost our entire weekend starting pitching and a few other experienced arms from an NCAA team.
We will be depending on some talented guys taking a large step up in responsibility. It could go very well, but not a sure thing.

With most of the dust settled, I think we came through this draft in very good shape. Lost a few we knew we were always losing, but kept almost all of the borderline players. I don't think we could have asked for much better.
If I was JBs father I'd be pissed. I guess the kid wanted a life in college but damn...you passes up 2 mill at age 17? Hope he stays healthy for the next three years
And the most notorious, hard-nosed agent in baseball. It doesn't surprise me he does it to two or three guys every year. But hey, good for us!
Good point, but this is going to be a DEEP roster. We may not have 4 players specifically as good as those 4, but we’ll have a fully funded scholarship roster for the first time in my lifetime.
It will be interesting to see how the two brothers' careers progress. I wish them both well.
