Mom's been through a ton of cancer her whole life. Got worse the last year and really just spent a lot of time taking care of her, her pets and the house, which was good in a ton of ways. But also taxing. Especially the last month. Passed away this past weekend and as the only relative to her, got that severely overwhelmed feeling for everything coming next. Shes at peace though and thats what's important. Im so glad we got to spend time with her, especially her and her granddaughter.
My mom wasnt a sports fan at all, and as many here know, im not from Kentucky. But still, knowing how much I cared about the team, she would tune in come March and cheer on Kentucky (pretty sure she had no idea what was going on for half the game and was doing other things lol). Shed text me after big winsm Always would get me UK related Christmas gifts when she could. Stuff like that. Doing what mom's do.
Idk, just spent a lot of time here over the years. Seen similar posts. I know we have a lot of folks here who are various ages. Some lost parents, some grand parents. Some even lost children. Life is tragic, but this a great community with a ton of support. We talk to each other more than we talk to a lot of our coworkers or friends even. I think thats pretty cool and something probably overlooked by most of us a lot of times (I know I have).
Ill be back to posting on the usual forums in due time.. fantasy football, horror movies and all the like. But, having a few drinks for now and going through some old photo albums and belongings for the next week.
Cheers to you all, and cheers to my mom.
