Mon County Ballpark - Field Turf

Does anyone know why they made the infield base paths and batters box a much darker color? Most ball fields have that red clay look similar to what the new park has around the perimeter and warning tracks. Does anyone know of other ballpark infields similar to ours? I'm still trying to get used to it. Other than that it is a great venue. Let's Go Mountaineers!

I don't know for a fact that that Alabama's stadium which is currently being renovated has dual colored turfs but it sure looks like it. Maybe we are trend setters.

Not sure why, but I love the look. Of course colors are based on preference. I hate the Boise Smurf turf since it hurts my eyes, but understand there are some people that love it. Go figure. .
