Gavin really getting better at disguising the handoff or keep. Kyle played incredible game and glad to see Sam get eased back in. And with Benjamin and Al, Aaron when healthy should be used as a receiver.

Good to see Brown back, but it will be tough to get Kyle off the field.

When healthy Brown is the better back and it’s actually not really close. But Kyle is a tough kid who gives you all he has. Winning player.

I would have said that last year, but not after last night especially when Temple saw the Northwestern tape and prepared for him. Monangai worked himself into a fine runner. He is hard to tackle and is a very good blocker. Rutgers has good RBs, RU is blessed to have them.

I think you are talking about KM and Brown from last year. I think KM looks a lot better than he did last year. He is a 3 tiered RB. He can run, block, and play out of the backfield.

I think Brown is a phenomenal back, but watch his TD last night. His feet died instantly on contact. He is lucky he scored.

Kyle is a great blocker too. He picks up blitzers and hits them. That aspect of his game reminds me so much of Walter Payton, who was a tremendous blocker. Not comparing any other aspect to Walter Payton, that wouldn’t be fair.

This. He's a complete football player. IMO he's earned the starting spot. Brown is going to have to take it away from him. I think Salaam should be used more. He's fast AF. Kick returner? Punt returner?

Probably gonna need at least 3-4 good RBs this season. So I hope Brown can get to 100% soon, and that Young isn’t far behind him.

I’m thinking there’s no way KM isn‘t pretty sore today. He took, and delivered, a pounding. Be good if the room is good enough that we can rest him some, cut down in the cumulative wear on his body.

KM is going to get the box stacked, kids a beast. GW threw some nice long balls but is going to have be more accurate on his mid range game to loosen up the D

Coach said he is still getting back to game situations.. physically. Going to take time.
That’s exactly what you saw there.

he and Benji remind me of Thurman Thomas

Have loved this kid’s potential all the way back to high school when Kyle and Berger were a tandem. At the time though smaller in stature Monangai was if not 1A - 1Aa some felt he was a better back though lower on the list. The kid has worked to get this hype. Our room is very good and if we can get Young back it will only make us tougher to stop. If this O line can still improve under coach Flats.

I was one of those that thought he was better than Berger.....more explosive.
He seems to have taken his game to an even higher level this season though. It could make for a very interesting season for RU.

I've been saying this all offseason.
Brown had one good game against Indiana and immediately got injured.
I'll wait until Brown has just 1 game as good as Kyle's best games to entertain any "clearly better" arguments.

Kyle has multiple games over 160 yards now.
Kyle has as many TDs this season (2) as Brown has in his entire career (excluding Wagner).
That includes Brown's TD last week.

Analytics sometimes don’t fit.Sam Brown has all the intangibles as a RS soph to be good-very good back at Rutgers but Kyle is showing what hard work and confidence can do. And once J Benjamin puts on a few pounds of muscle we willlook like Kirk’s RB room at Minnesota.
