per San Fran Chronicle, on espn.com. just signed a 60M contract - not a good time to be playing around on mopeds.

does anyone else remember wayne madkin riding around campus on a moped around 98-99? i remember seeing him on it all the time around sanderson. hilarious.

in the contract that deals with activites that might present an excessive risk of injury. I mean, you can get injured doing anything. But, if I had big bucks riding on someone's athletic performance, I wouldn't want them, for example, to be riding around on a Harley without a helment -- or skydiving. Perhaps the moped was a grey area that he thought better to keep his mouth shut about.

Most all of these guaranteed contracts contain prohibited activities lists. You get hurt doing one of those activities and the contract is voided. So, the Warriors could technically cut Monta and not pay him a dime. Of course, in the real world, as long as the injury isn't serious, they'll waive that right and keep the contract in place.

Riding a mo-ped is prohibited under the uniform player contract, which means the Warriors could tear up Ellis' contract. But according to sources, the team and Ellis are still working through the situation. A decision on discipline won't be made until next week, according to the report.

Two years ago, Los Angeles Lakers forward Vladimir Radmanovic separated his shoulder in a snowboarding accident. Radmanovic, who at first said he had slipped and fell on a patch of ice, was fined $500,000 by the team.
remember jay williams and kellen winslow - their contracts could have been voided. i bet the contract has a clause that has a non-exhaustive list of such activities (motorcycle, bungee jumping, mopeds, etc.). because of monta's value and that they just lost baron davis, i'm sure they'll keep him and slap him on the wrist with a fine for lying. i don't know anything about the specific injury, but an ankle ligament would probably not be career-threatening.

A - They're both kind of fun to ride, but you wouldn't want your friends to find out about it.
