QB Dante Moore opts against NFL draft, returning to Oregon
Oregon QB Dante Moore, who was projected as a top pick in the NFL draft, has decided to return to school for the 2026 season, he announced on ESPN's "SportsCenter."
Raiola could benefit tremendously from a redshirt season.Being a backup QB is going to sting a bit!
I thought the same thing. He got to lead Nebraska out of the tunnel, his dad‘s name was on the stadium, every regional and national TV announcer doing our games talked about him. He becomes pretty irrelevant in his first season at Oregon It seems.Guess he won't be leading his new team out of the tunnel?
Helicopter dad wouldn’t have it.Should have been his role his freshman year with McCord as the starter
Could recycle guys who fell through the cracks in previous draft years... Could be a good source of hidden talent. I feel like in the NFL a lot of guys don't get fair shots to make it, even though they may possess a lot of talent. And that goes doubly so for quarterbacks. That first year or two is make or break, and there's not a good development league if you fall through the cracks. Everybody is hunting for that one shot wonder, but development doesn't always happen like that.Gonna be a bad draft for QBs this year. Will be interesting to see what some of these NFL teams do that need QBs.
Good timing for Chubba Purdy.Gonna be a bad draft for QBs this year. Will be interesting to see what some of these NFL teams do that need QBs.
Agreed. Having gone to the home games, I always noticed Dylan leading the team out on the field. He'd gesture toward the fans. But it never seemed like he had a lot of teammates around him. I never got the impression that he was well liked. I blamed it on the team-- figuring that petty jealousy was at play. I would think-- what have those guys won? Must be negativity, and that sort of thing. But now reflecting on all of that, I think the team was right to be turned off by Dylan, the attention he sought, and the huge amount of money he got. Most people would react the same way.I thought the same thing. I was so excited to get Dylan at NU and actually appreciate a lot of what he did for the program. But the Primadonna vibes got to be too much. One of the things that bugged me was when a receiver dropped a ball or missed a route and Dylan would consistently grab his helmet in disbelief. It felt like he was one upping his teammate like “I can’t believe you did that.“
Best thing that could happen to Dylan if he ever has a chance to play professionally. He has always lived in a bubble world, always been a rich kid, always had the environment around him manipulated to suit him. Hell, he hasn't had to earn a starting position since high school. I hope he gets some tough love and they tell him he is too fat and too slow, can't read defenses, can't navigate the pocket. Not likely, but more likely to happen to a backup than starter. This is interesting. The projected #2 overall pick in the draft says "I'm not ready" and stays in school. I wonder if he got a raise. If Ty Simpson got one or two $6.5 million offers to stay in school, then Dante Moore should be somewhere at that amount even if he didn't consider leaving.
And now, Dylan gets to ride the bench. Guess he won't be leading his new team out of the tunnel?
He made the games slightly more worth watching last year, but he has such bad and weird body language and clearly wasn't mobile enough to lead a top offense in college football. The speed gap between Carson Beck, who is a Pro-Style Qb and Dylan is as big as Carson Beck and Michael Vick. His lack of athletic ability was almost embarrassing at times and really hurt us. Our W/L record was pretty much a forgone conclusion at the start of this year with Cincinnati, UCLA, bowl game being toss-ups. Close wins against Cincinnati and UCLA took this season from being an absolute disaster to being palatable, but our fan base knows the team isn't any good.I thought the same thing. Or maybe he should accept his genetic fate and switch to OL. Same with Dayton.Best thing that could happen to Dylan if he ever has a chance to play professionally. There’s going to be a few backups elsewhere getting new teams. Willis will get paid. Chablis from Ole Miss will get drafted. There will probably be some guys drafted nobody has thought of.Gonna be a bad draft for QBs this year. Will be interesting to see what some of these NFL teams do that need QBs.
