Look at the numbers, not your feelings. He is telling the truth.
You two idiots (you and Moronhead) could not be more wrong. Not to mention Moronhead inherited a very stable program from Mullen and Leach had to clean up Sloppy Jo’s mess.

Leach overall winning percentage at State .543

Leach SEC winning percentage at State .44

Mullen overall winning percentage at State .600

Mullen SEC winning percentage at State. .458

Mooronhead overall winning percentage at State .538

Moronhead SEC winning percentage at State .4375

Take out The Covid year and do the numbers. That year deserves an *. People that have an irrational hatred of Mike Leach wont concede he was a very good coach. Also a great human being.

Speaking of asterisks, I didn’t put asterisks on Moronhead‘s win percentages. His official win total at State is much worse due to him and his chemistry scholars.

Why does that matter? Everybody else had a Covid year as well. People that have an irrational love for Leach will use any excuse to make him look better. Leach was not as popular as you groupies think he was.

Leach’s offense was dependent on reps. He not only had to install his offense with no Spring Practices, he also had to instill much needed discipline to a football team that resembled a church league softball team thanks to Sloppy Joe’s S&C program.

No. He said he did as well as Mullen (he did significantly worse). He said he did better than Leach (he did not). Not to mention, the majority of his wins here were vacated.

Dude. Stop arguing. Take your L and move on.

He and Leach were roughly similar, and Moorhead’s yearly records were certainly in line with what Mullen did. You LEACH groupies need to face the FACT that Leach did no better than his predecessors, and he left a train wreck. There were people who were pointing out where things were headed, before he died. His recruiting, especially on defense, was not good at all. He only really cared about two positions.

Yes and that was exactly why it was a colossal mistake to hire him. His offense was so bizarre and out there that it wasn't Intuitive to run. It’s going to turn out to be the biggest mistake MSU athletics has ever made, and that’s saying something.

Just insanely stupid. He had the #1 defense in the nation in 2018 and lost 4 games. He 17ing sucked. Do you not remember how retarded we looked that year on offense after Mullen was scoring like crazy with the same players the year before?

Feelings, and I never said Moorhead had a good offense.

Dude, I literally showed your DUBMASS statistically that Leach won at a higher clip than Moronhead, yet you keep arguing. Had we let Sloppy Joe coach in 2020, we would have been lucky to go 1-9. Leach won at a higher clip at both MSU and Texas Tech than those two schools won historically. He won at a much higher clip than Wazzo won historically.

Again. You are wrong. Take your L and STFU

This is turning into the national parks thread all over again.
I was right on that one too. Y’all weren’t arguing with me there. I was just quoting park service employees. Y’all know more than everyone on everything. This thread is my opinion.

Two time national coach of the year with a feature NFL Films devoted to his genius , NFL GMs and Head Coaches who couldnt heap enough praise on him, but yea he sucked. lol

Like I said a few days ago, the low IQers on this board think Mississippi State football was too good for HoF Coach Leach and Mississippi State basketball is too good for Chris Jans

Well he’s not wrong. 2-0 in Egg Bowls too.

Devil is in the details though and there were some things going on that probably would have ended up causing problems down the road with the roster. You can also see he’s bounced around and his current coaching stint hasn’t been good to say the least.
You need to run for office…….

I‘ve tried multiple times to end it respectfully, but just keeps coming back for more.
You are a groupie, no respect in any single thing you have posted. You are allied with goat here. Let that sink in. I’m tired of trying not offend the groupies. The fact is Leach destroyed MSU football, and it would have happened on his watch had he not died.

You keep moving your goalpost. Where did recruiting come up in this thread until now? Even better, when have we ever done well recruiting?
Mullen did pretty well, look at what we have in the NFL now. How many players that Leach recruited to MSU are there? Surely you don’t look at recruiting stars to evaluate recruiting? 😂Y’all are just blind groupies.

He legit should probably feel that way, and makes valid points, but fans were never able to get over 2018 because of what that roster should have accomplished. When it turned out his new offense was the main cause of an 8-5 record instead of what should have been at minimum 10-2 and and an SEC title game appearance it was all down here from there.

I have no problem with him feeling that way though.

Inherited the #1 defense in country and a veteran, very good QB and RB tandem, a really good OL and the offense was BAD.

It was our once in 50 years type roster and all he had to do was be average on offense and he couldn’t do it.

he just constantly looked overwhelmed and he just wasn’t ready for SEC football and the heat that comes with it. He was kind of a pus-sy in all honesty.

The thing is, I don't really blame Leach. He did what he always did, which was not a fit AT ALL for MSU's realistic recruiting base. The current state of our football program is 100% on John Cohen. He didn't give a crap about anything but baseball.

Yeah, that stupid 17er lost a game in which his defense allowed -15 yards rushing. Real great coach.
