if a cab driver locks my *** in a car, I am yelling whatever I can to get out.

Of course, if I am a college coach, my *** would not be out the night before a game at 1:30 AM.

and by the way, here is AK's side of the story from the CL blog:

Andy Kennedy is not talking to members of the media about his arrest in Cincinnati early this morning, but his brother Steve Kennedy agreed to tell me the story Andy has told him. The following is the story he told me:

"The team had its normal team meeting at about 11 p.m. and then the coaches went out for a late-night dinner with some friends that Andy had when he was in Cincinnati. After they were done, they were leaving dinner and hailed a taxi. The taxi driver pulled up and the coaches (Kennedy, Bill Armstrong, Michael White, Owen Miller and Torrey Ward) piled into the car. Kennedy was in the front. The cab driver decides that he won't take all five guys, he'll only take four, and he started calling coach Ward (who is black) the 'N' word, so Kennedy says they'll get another cab. The cab hadn't moved, but the driver demanded that six dollars be paid. At this point, Kennedy got out of the cab and went to another cab directly behind them and asked the second driver if he would take five people. That cab driver said yes. But when the coaches tried to get out of the first cab, the cab driver locked the back doors and drove about 100 feet with the four assistants in the back. Kennedy was standing on the curb. Apparently, some words were said in the cab and the cops were called. When the police showed up, the cab driver said Kennedy punched him and called him racial slurs. So the cops, who Andy said were nice, but had to do their jobs, put him in handcuffs and put him into the squad car. At that point, Armstrong started saying stuff like this is bull s--- and he ended up getting arrested as well. But Andy never touched the cab driver or called him any names. They spent six hours in jail for this. It's amazing that someone can just make an accusation and someone gets thrown into jail."</p>

I am not believing some damn cabbie over Kennedy. And furthermore, if the story about the two cabbies arguing was true, and Kennedy told the cabbie (who wanted his money) he could shove it up his Osama Bin Laden ***, what's the big deal with that? If I feel unsafe in a cab, ask to get out, and the cabbie doesn't let me out, then lets me out a few blocks later, that cabbie ain't gonna get crap.

Sounds like the cabbie didn't get paid and decided to get even. As for the "drinking the night before the game" thing, probably happened. So what.

It may sound too perfect, but the supposed actions of the cabbie sound very true. Those sobs have no respect for American culture and they make you sit in their smelly cab and listen to their jihad music. I hope AK knocked his eyeball out of socket.

2. The ones that ain't trying to kill me are not trying to kill the ones that are trying to kill me.

You don't have to believe the cabbie. The fact the police hauled Kennedy to jail is enough. There had to be another witness or evidence (swollen eye) for the police to take action to place Kennedy under arrest. I certainly don't believe that......

1. Kennedy politely got out of the car.
2. The cab drove off.
3. The police arrive and arrest Kennedy.

That is the biggest load of BS I have ever heard.

How about I call you Hitler because you are vanilla?

I was attacked by several liberals during the campaign for using Obama's full name. It was like I was calling him the N word.

There doesn't have to be any other visual evidence.

All the cabbie has to do is call the police, tell them that a big bald guy and his friends verbally assaulted him, the big bald guy physically assaulted him, and the police will file a report.

No swollen eye is needed. Besides, the swollen eye won't show up for a good hour or so.

For what its worth, if you'd actually read the damn police report, the "incident" happened about a mile away from where Kennedy was arrested. That mile was equivalent to about 15 blocks, give or take a few.

he may file a report but nobody is getting arrested unless the police have reason to believe a crime was actually committed. You can't just call the police, make up a story with nothing to back it up, and get somebody arrested (well you can but it's not easy)

particularly for out-of-towners.

Ever been to New Orleans? The police there will arrest anyone a place in the quarter says to arrest for whatever they want to arrest you for.

Number 1: Yes there does have to be evidence to support arresting someone. That evidence was the witness and the marking on the cab drivers face. If you do not need evidence, was is the cab driver not in jail also?

Number 2: I can promise you from some of the dumb situations I have put myself in, it does not take 1 hour for marks from physical altercations to show up.

you'd know that if your face was swollen the night of, it would at least be marked up or swollen worse the next day.

But according to the espn.com article, he showed no visible injuries and said he wasn't physically harmed today, only 12 hours after the incident.

Not only that, but according to the bar's owner, the cabbie is lying about AK and his staff being kicked out of the bar.
