More conference re-shuffling

(like I predicted a few weeks ago) the basketball-only schools in the Big East will probably form their own conference, and take some A-10 schools with them. Apparently they weren't able to give as much input about the Tulane addition as the schools that play football. Like football (and the mad cash grab over TV money) is the only sport that's really behind the conference realignments or something.

I've been wondering for years why this hasn't happened. I didn't see any way the Big East would be able to continue once they expanded to 18 or so. Sucks for Memphis. After all those years of begging to join the Big East, they finally get the invite and less than 6 months later the Big East is no better of a league than the one they left.

I'm amazed that the Big East lasted as long as it did. You can't be a major player conference when all the members don't play football and basketball.
